Derby cover insert
« on: April 02, 2014, 11:59:23 AM »

Looking for a part # for a Derby cover insert.  I think the bare Derby cover - the one that says "110" and takes an insert ring is 60709-07A.

There seem to be at least four (and I suspect more!) different inserts for it: one with script, one with a diamond pattern, one plain anodised grey, and one that has a machined metal effect.  See pic - it's the machined metal effect one I'm looking for the part # for, not any of the others.  Does anyone know it?  Or what model had it stock, even?  (Might be 60742-10, not at all sure though....)

Going by the thread below, looks like that part # you listed is the one with the machined look.

But it also appears that it might be a add on and not the complete insert  :nixweiss:

It is an add on, Jimmy - just sticks into the groove on the Derby Cover.  I saw that thread, but - given the reflection of the grass - it's not clear if that's the plain one, or the one with the machined look, hence my asking to be sure.

I see what you mean Jim, not perfectly clear. My bet would be that it is as the design stays as the reflection changes from grass to concrete. Still taking a chance though.

60742-10 is the correct number for the machined look insert.   I ordered one a few years back.

You guys are killing my wallet! I bought my first CVO telling myself it already had everything on it so I wouldn't fall into the same trap as the last bike, adding a bunch of stuff. Thanks for another wish list! ::)

Be sure to also order the timing cover and insert so you will have a matched set.

The part numbers are 32586-07 and 32577-10.

Glad to help out - you wouldn't want a miss matched set of covers on such a nice bike.

Almost forgot - if you need the chrome screws they are: 32690-99A for timing cover and 25913-99 for derby cover.  ;D
