Unless it's just a visual peculiarity of the shadow being seen I think we're still seeing part of the divot not being covered by the upper oval part of the emblem there.  Hard to tell for sure.  

I haven't (and not sure if I'm going to [but probably will as it'll bug me not knowing]) yet removed the emblem I've not got on replacing the SUBTOTBF.  But I'm suspecting that installation of this Kuryakyn rear license plate bracket will render the SUBTOTBF's replacement a moot point.  The whole bracket assembly is a bit larger in overall O.D. than is the standard plate rings.  It covers almost 1/2 of the emblem I have on to cover the divot that is hidden by the SUBTOTBF.
