Finally got it (re)tuned
« on: April 09, 2014, 08:09:07 PM »

Picked up the bike 2 years ago. It came with the D&D Fat Cat and Sert already on it. Not knowing much about proper tuning on bikes I thought the installing dealer would have done a proper tune to it. Damn thing always seemed like it ran hot. Hot enough to discolor the rear heat shield. I've read a lot of post over the last two years about power numbers and everything else I could lay my eyes on. Dropped it off at the dealer and asked them to see what they can do to it. Sheets are posted below. Hopefully this will help with the heat problem. Hopefully some of our resident experts will chime in and give more feedback on what they see on these sheets.
Thanks

Base run 82hp and 104 tq

Final tune call it 95hp and116 tq for the sake of slightly rounding up

I would be very happy with those gains with $1000.00 in parts and a tune, with just a tune 13 H.P. and  12 ft. lbs. torque is the jackpot! Nice to see what a competent tuner is capable of.

Definitely a nice job by your tuner  :2vrolijk_21:

It looks like your AFR on the run BEFORE the new tune was a little lean and that may have contributed to your heat issue.

You can rest easy knowing you got a good tune!! There are many good tuners out there, regretfully not many work at dealerships. The main problem is, the ones that are marginal won't confess that fact. You got a good one!!!!

Mike, You got a great tune. Your air fuel ratio looks spot on and I would bet your (seat of the pants) dyno feels a difference
also! :2vrolijk_21:
