Happy Anniversary to Me
« on: April 10, 2014, 03:45:37 AM »

Two years ago today and a little over 25,000 miles ago I bought my Shark. Best two years on a  bike I've ever spent. Spent a chunk of change on it but well worth it.  :2vrolijk_21:

Now the irony of this date. IF I would have been dumb enough to have stayed married to my first wife, it would have been our 20 year anniversary. Helluva present to myself don't ya think  :huepfenlol2:

Who all remembers  the date they bought their first CVO ?

Man I do.  I had just gotten a bump in my commissions and decided to reward my self by going to the Dealer that had the only black and green CVO ultra in 2006.  I can remember smiling for months straight.  I couldn't hardly get off it.  Rode it everywhere. It was my first new bike and the first time I spent 30k on a bike.   Heck up to that point I hadn't spent over $17000 for one.  I rode that bike for 3 years and sold it for 25500.  Thats when I know it was worth the up front CVO money.

October 24, 2010.

We were out helmet shopping for my "current" wife. When we walked in this bike was upfront. When I got back to helmet area I asked my wife a question. When I noticed the person by me give me one of those looks I turned around and my wife was not there.

Sure enough she was still upfront. Needless to say we rode a new bike home.

If I had purchased the Hot Citrus a few months earlier, the CVO date would'a been December 14th, 2011.  I passed on that one but bit the bullet on March 17th, 2012 for Ginger.  It wasn't a specific celebration of an event other than just finally got a CVO after years of looking.

...and OBB, congrats on the two year mark with the shark

4/20/2011 is the day it came home with us  :2vrolijk_21:
As soon as HD announced the 11.5 BLUE one I had to have it, showed my wife a photo of the bike from a press release and she said "yeah, I (meaning her, not me  :huepfenlol2: ) would look good on that one". Went to the dealer a few days later to get a purchase agreement signed and put down a deposit on the one they had allotted to them.

Pretty funny Ohio but we bought our bikes on the same day... You got me beat by 5000 miles (my son plays college football in Missouri so for 12 weeks a yr I can't ride because I fly somewhere in the midwest every weekend chasing him around) but I agree with you that it has been the best MC experience I have ever had and I have had one bike or another my entire adult life! I also need therapy for all the da-- money I spend on it but IMO worth every dime..

May 26, 2005 at 3:30 in the afternoon and I am still riding it. I have loved this bike since the day my wife told me I had to buy it.

Ya see I went to the Harley shop to buy a red and black ultra and the salesman showed us this bike and my wife said she wanted it. I told her it was 10k more than the ultra and she said but this one already has the stuff you were going to put on the ultra and it has custom paint and the big engine and the custom wheels. At that point I figured out that I just needed to shut my mouth and let her have her way on this.  8) I told her she had sold me and we would take it.

Have I mentioned I have a GREAT wife??

This is about the only date that I can remember all year!!

You'll catch up as soon as he graduates I'm sure. I need to mention though living in NE Ohio this bike sits in the garage about 4 months every year due to all the damn salt they use on the roads.  >:(
Upside is just recently my work location moved much closer to home. Instead of a 90 mile round trip commute, it's maybe 20 so my yearly mileage will go down. Just means I'll get home at a much better time in the evening to enjoy those after dinner ice cream runs to neighboring counties :2vrolijk_21:

Same situation here except our date was September last year. Appears we both have great wives.   :2vrolijk_21:

That's a great story. Congratulations to you.

My story is that i was window shopping at the dealer with the new wife. She was off looking in the boutique for a shirt.
Ordered a bike and was making the down-payment when she catches up with me and says "what you doin"   We just bout a CVO....Her answer..what color. :drink:
