I bought my first CVO shortly after losing a job.  I figured that I wasn't working and this would be a great time to get some riding in, so an upgrade to more storage space was in order.

Mrs. R was on the puter one day and said you need to get this one. Well it was Blue so then I saw her curser waving back and forth over Dual heated seat. I just said OK. :coolblue:

I had looked at the 2014 CVO Breakout on the floor of our local dealer for maybe a week. I took a picture and sent it to my wonderful wife. I told her I was going to take her up there to look at it that night. I get there with her and they already had it fixed up with a big bow on it and a sign that said Congrats Ziggy and Merry Christmas. She had already contacted them I guess. They are hard to find Gents, but when you do you better hold on to them. Thanks Jeannie, your the best.

September 12, 2009.  Wife and I boarded a Jet in Columbus, Ms and flew to Tulsa Oklahoma to purchase the bike at Route 66 Harley.  Years back like 2009,  you had to be on a list to get a CVO touring bike,  They didn't sit around on the showroom floor like they do now.  I had called many dealers to get on the waiting list for a FLHTCUSE4 Twilight Blue and Stardust Silver.  And then one day a salesman from Route66 Harley calls me up and said that he was getting the first one to come in there,  but after thinking about it,  that it just wasn't going to be fincanially good for him to make the move on it,  and told me that I could have it if I wanted it.  So of course I jumped all over it.  So when it did arrive, the wife and I flew to Tulsa and rode it home.  And by the way,  it was the first time I had ever ridden an Ultra.   I remember it was the day that Hurricane IKE was approaching the coast of Texas,  Wind was blowing in Oklahoma real hard,  but we got out of there around noon,  spent the night in Arkansas,  and rode on into Columbus, Ms the next day.  Several of our friends met us in Tupelo Ms, about 60 miles from Columbus to escort the new Eagle home.  What a memory.  And yes I still have it,  48,000 miles and wouldn't trade it for nothing.

June is a tough moth for me.. June 06/2008 I got my first HD, a Crimson Red Sunglo Fatbob.. June 11/2011 I got my first bagger, a Sedona orange StreetGlide..
June 05 / 2013 picked up my current bike. A good buddy put a deposit on this one, and a CVO RG Limited.. He couldn't decide so wanted to weigh them out for a week.
When he chose the Limited, he sent a pic of the Atomic Orange RG and 3 days later the SG was sold to my brother, and I was riding the 900 km to give his the SG and
pick up the RG for myself (bought it in the same town he lived in).

I have just had my 2 year anniversary of getting my Scarlett. I had all the dates down. My husband had foot surgery May 24th, we were hanging out on Sunday night the 27th? We went down to the store the 28th(?) my husband put money on it. Hadn't arrived yet, but on it's way. It came in the 31st, we did the buying on 6-1-12 and I got to ride it home on Saturday. My mechanic was like "don't rush me on prepping a CVO!" So, it has been two years tomorrow that I signed up on the CVO Harley forum...and this year I finally will get to meet a few of you at the Maggie Valley GTG!

It has been a fun (and difficult, health wise) two years; I have learned a lot, prayed a lot, cried a lot, and not ridden as much as I would have liked, especially the period between having surgery in June 2012 after only riding for 9 days on my new bike, and finding out about cancer in November 2012. More surgery December 2012 and the radiation and chemo did their own damage while keeping me alive, and July 17th last year was my last chemo. Never doing that again! But, God has got me, and I am blessed.

My first & last CVO, Scarlett, arrived 6-1-12. I always remember my mom while riding.  She had smarts with a spirit of independence & adventure. "You Gotta LIVE!", was her motto; her favorite color red, and she loved BLING.

Congratulations on a very uplifting story.  My wife and I can relate to the cancer thing.  It's always encouraging to hear how folks have made through very difficult times.  I'm sure it helped knowing that your beautiful bike was there waiting in the wings.  :pineapple:

Thanks so much. Scarlett and Harry (my service dog) have been post cancer keys to sanity...at least, relative sanity. I can't say how bad it would be without them!! Lol. Went on a 440 mile ride yesterday, celebrating.

It was high 80s-100, but a lot of nice breeze and at higher altitude cooled down. used my camelback and hydration vest/jacket during the ride. Came home, got in the shower (cold) and assessed the damage, knee hurts, heat rash from the right leg 110 burn, achy, and legs swollen with the lymphadema. Still achy today, but the ride: priceless! I'll have my legs up in the flowtron machine (lymphadema pump) today. It's totally Worth paying for as long as I can get my leg over and get her going! Wonderful curves in the ride yesterday and great friends.

Mine was Oct. 18, 2012. I went into the local dealership to drop my 09 Road King off for a service. My wife came to pick me up. While I was doing the paperwork for my bike, she went off to the clothing area. I found her standing in front of and starring at "Ole Red" 2013 CVO Road King. They talked us into sitting on it, I obliged them. We were looking for a BMW convertible for her so I was hesitant, that's when she told me she would rather me get that, so I did and haven't regretted it. We just got back a couple of weeks ago from a road trip to Ontario from South Carolina. I decided a tour pak would be in order instead of the T-bag I've been using. I just sent one to Joe at "Xtreme Dimension" to have it custom painted and I'm stoked.
