Brad Yuill - Freedom Cycles
« on: April 17, 2014, 01:28:08 AM »

I don't have a lot of details but Brad was in a serious MC accident and has undergone neck surgery. Brad developed some of the first cams designed for the CVO103 motors and many members here ran them with great success. Prayers go out to him for a speedy recovery.

Always hate to hear of another Brother n Iron going down. Even worse when they share the passion. Hope all works out and Brad has a speedy recovery.

Very sad to hear this news.  I've known the Yuill brothers since my drag racing days back in the 70's.  Real classy people.  Still running their YB13's in my cherry.  Prayers for a speedy recovery Brad!

Really sorry to hear this.  I too have known the Yuill Bro  since drag racing in the 60's and 70's. Top notch guys!  Still running their complete setup in my 2008 FLHTCUSE.   Best wishes for a full and quick recovery!

Talked to Brad's son this morning, Brad is doing well. Lots of broken bones and beat up. No road rash due to proper riding gear. Has had two surgeries for repairs. Doctors say he'll make a full recovery but it will take time.

Really sorry to hear this.  Brad is a great guy and I always stop by and visit with them when I'm in Reno, thanks to Jim for introducing.  Brad's been to my home when I still lived in Sacramento.

OK the 2nd annual Western CVO Owners GTG (like the first) was in Reno.  Here's a photo of Brad and I and his parking lot full of CVOs back in 2005....  http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=3325.msg43559#msg43559

Another Brad story....I went to pick my bike up at his shop with a Kendon two up trailer, using the stock Kendon POS ramp.  As I rode up the tab flattened out and the ramp dropped to the ground....back wheel in the air.....bike hanging half way off the trailer.  I'm tall enough I was able to keep it upright, standing on my tip toes but I'd never have been able to get off the bike without dropping it if Brad weren't there to help.

Sure glad to hear that he's going to be OK in the end and I pray for him for the speedy recovery.

May be a time for a CVO ride to Reno guys? :nixweiss:  He's certainly always been there for us!  :2vrolijk_21:

Jim, thanks for the news and update on Brad.  We also know him very well from living in Reno for 4 years.  He is a great person and took really good care of me when I lost the motor in the CVO to a HD cheap ass cam bearing.  Any yes, I also am running the YB13's.  What a great set of cams.

Our thoughts and prayers will be with him for a complete recovery.

I got an email from Brad earlier this morning.  Said he's a little beat up but OK.

As many of us know....when we make it through one of these, we always feel a little (a lot?) blessed.  Happy to hear that he's going to make a full recovery.  :2vrolijk_21:
