OK I just burnt a few CD's and have some old bought ones.... loaded them up... damn thing cant see anything... so it is toast.

So I am taking it out of the Pizza box to claim some space..... not the hard part.   Does anyone make a plug compatible box to play the ipod or iphone on that pretends to be a CD?  It would be handy

I used to use a jack in the front of the radio for my ipod which I kept in the windshield pouch, and a cassette jack in the tape player for the GPS. Both worked fine. Another option is to upgrade to a newer stereo and use the HDPLUS system.

The 00 did not have the multi CD changer and its just a simple plug and play with a gps or mp3. The 01 came with the multi disk player in the pizza box, and if I remember right was a little more complicated but still doable with a mp3 plug in. The 00 will recognise the mp3 as a CD in the window cause I don't think mp3's were around then, but it will work fine.

Mine is a 2000 SERG, and it was standard, taking up huge space in the Pizza trunk

Correct GPD.
Only the 01 SERG's came standard with the CD changer. It was the second thing to go on mine.

I agree with Doc on this one Gank ... The CD changer on your bike must have been a retrofit  :nixweiss: I just plug my headphone jack into the little mp3 receiver hole in the front of the radio  :2vrolijk_21: works like a charm  :drink:

The 2000 SERG had the same radio as the 2001 had.  But didn't have the CD deck as a stock item.  That radio, however, confused a great many because it's aux port didn't bring up a display that read "AUX" when in use.  So if anyone added the P&A multi-disk deck the radio made it look as if the deck was a stock item due to the CD display in the radio for the aux port.

Thanks for the history lessons, but what I want to know is did anyone make an IPOD interface so I can use the handlebar controls to change songs, etc,

Yes I use the Aux port too, but wanted to do away with the damn cable

No direct iPod controller for the pre-HK radios that I've seen.
