Dragos 580 cam
« on: April 18, 2014, 09:01:39 PM »

Picked up my bike today. Stock CVO 110" with Dragos Dragula 2-1 pipe and 2.55 baffle, Dragos 580 cams, and power vision tuner. Had Frank install S&S premium lifters because I was tired of the clatter at 2800-3200 RPM's and the horror stories of these lifters going bad. Also did S&S push rods. Old cams look great and there was no signs of any premature wear.

Bike now builds 100tq at 2300 and doesn't fall off until 5500 (and doesn't drop off at 3300 like the 255's). Haven't had much time to ride it but so far it runs really smooth and the heat issues seem to be gone that I had with the old cams and D&D fatcat. Bike made 105 HP and 114 TQ. Looking forward to riding it more tomorrow calls for a high of 74 and sunshine and I was on the road from 6am to 6pm today to pick up the bike from Dragos Bike Works. Here is the dyno sheet.

You got to be happy with that! I see a little less rubber on that back tire coming. 8) Enjoy that extra power tomorrow!

Thank you all. I just want to stress that I was SOOOO comfortable working with Frank he really knows his stuff and truly cares about his customers. I put 1200 miles on my truck pulling a trailer with my bike to his shop in an 8 day span and I would do it again.

The pipe is actually a bit more mild then my old fatcat with wrapped baffle but he says it will get about 10% louder with burn in and I am ok with that.

BTW the bike is now all set for pistons and head work if I choose to go that route at a later date hehe.

:2vrolijk_21: Good looking curve! Should be a blast for you to ride. Hope you get a full day of that nice weather to burn up the road.

Thank you David.

BTW I had about .00625 runout. Frank says that he typically sees .005 - .009 runout on these bikes and since I wasn't doing gear driven cams and the cam plate, etc. showed no signs of premature wear, I decided to leave the bottom end alone.

Thanks for that note. That is what I am hoping to see in the bottom end on mine also. Just really not ready to do a bottom end yet! $$$
Enjoy your revamped ride tomorrow. Wife has already warned me we are getting around early tomorrow for a ride because she has plans to go watch a baseball game tomorrow night....lol.
Congradulations and let us know your thoughts after you get some miles on her.

still stock compression? TQ curve looks VERY nice, dont know the specs on his cams, but wondering if a bump in compression would help (lack of compression is probably the biggest HP/TQ killer on the 110`s)

Yes stock compression wasn't looking for huge numbers just a nice, smooth, long curve and less heat. Also wanted to be future ready if I decide to have Frank take it to the next level.
