Finally putting miles on...
« on: April 19, 2014, 09:24:44 AM »

I just wanted to share some photos. I powder coated the windshield & docking hardware to be different. Boom audio windshield speakers for some tunes. Harley Hammock seat (wow...huge difference). Passenger floor boards for the Mrs. Went with V&H power duels with hi-output slip ons. Sounds great! Tour pack should be finished for the ride to Panama City Beach (Thunder Beach rally).

When you put on the Hammock seat did it change position Lower or higher or move you forward or backward?      Thanks Billy

Hammock seat raises you up a couple inches AND pushes you forward. Not real sure how I feel about it yet. I need to mess with the position of the rider back rest to see if that changes anything. Great lower back support, considering I have a lower back injury. It's a really comfortable seat, but it's something to get used to.

The handlebars are stock. So far, I don't mind them. The windshield is a 21" Standard Road King replacement shield.  The dealer just ordered a replacement for my '07 RK since it's not in the catalog?!?

Dave, I'll keep an eye out for ya at Thunder Beach!  Anxious to get on the road to break the 'Ol girl in!

We well be staying at Sandpiper Beacon.  Lots of good bands there each night.  Mustang Sally is there four nights.  Big Engine is there a couple nights.  Its usually pretty hopping at the Tikki bar.

Yes, the windshield fits on the same brackets. I have not tried the stock shield yet. I like having the extra wind protection on long trips.

Ok...I had to dump that hammock seat. Sat me up too high, pushed me too far forward, and crushed me low in the pants (if you know what I mean). I swapped it for a sundowner. I actually rode around with the demo for a day and it's more comfortable.  I really like the stock seat, but I like to use a rider backrest on long trips. The sundowner puts me in a similar riding position as the stock seat. Only note...i decided on the 2008 + sundowner instead of the 2014. There is a big difference so try them both.
