On the day before Thanksgiving, Terry and I left Alabama to ride to my daughter's house in Tampa. We were moving along at a good pace until about 5 p.m. when I75 turned into a parking lot.
It took us 1 hour to go 10 miles.
We took an alternate route, thanks to GPS; however, by this time it was dark and we were in unfamiliar territory. The good news is that we found a wonderful seafood restaurant on the alternate route, ate some excellent seafood, and arrived at my daughter's at about 9 p.m. We visited with my daughter, her husband, and two dogs Thanksgiving day.
The day after Thanksgiving we drove to West Palm Beach to visit Jegomez (Jorge) and his wife Martha. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] Upon arrival at their beautiful home, we enjoyed a few beers [smiley=drink.gif] and some appetizers that Martha had prepared. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] That night we rode in Jorge's new Harley truck to dinner.
We were treated to a wonderful dinner with a view of the water. Jorge and Martha were so gracious, and it was a wonderful visit, just too brief.
Saturday we rode with Jorge and Martha for about 4 hours along the Atlantic coast. It was a beautiful ride. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] At 2:30 we left Jorge and Martha and drove to Tampa to my daughter's house.
Sunday morning we drove to Destin, Florida and checked into the Hilton Destin Golf Club and Spa. We ate a wonderful dinner and drank a few cocktails. [smiley=drink.gif] This morning we ate made to order omelettes and waffles at the Hilton and left for home about 10:30 a.m.
What a wonderful trip! [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] We visited with family and friends, were gone for 6 days, and never had to put on our rain suits! [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]
