So I have been a real hater of HDs crapy ABS brakes in this past, well just because they where awful and extended the stopping distance. Did not think my 2014 would be much better and had plans to disconnect them. (My 2013 was crap)

But, today I was running break tests / practice with Midwest Police Motorcycle Training doing several road speed runs with full force braking in different configurations.

Holly crap these brakes are perfect! Best MC ABS I ever had. It's even hard to detect that the ABS is working. (Although the people around can see they do work). And the stopping distance from all speeds are VERY impressive.

Will do the same runs in the rain tomorrow.

I would buy the 2014 for the brakes as the only reason to upgrade from the crap that was prior to this year if I did not already have one. HD went from having the worst ABS brakes in the motorcycle industry to the absolute best.

I have to agree, the braking on this bike is simply awesome!

Seems about right for H-D; six years to "get stuff right".  Just think how long it would have taken if they had to actually invent any of this stuff themselves, rather than borrow the idea and technology from others.  Maybe there is still hope they will get the 110 reliability issues fixed too.

Well BMW was first in 1988 applying it to motorcycles. They have refined their systems and they work pretty good But they did not invent it either. ABS was first applied to aircrafts back in the late 1920s something. (By the French if I recall correctly)
