Ok, I think I understand now. At first I was under the impression you thought the DT had to be hooked to your bike to use/change the SERT. However if this is a concern then they (Dealer) could hook this up and get this information w/o you knowing it anytime your scooter is in their possession. [smiley=nixweiss.gif] I think the main thing is to establish the relationship, and do what you feel comfortable with.

I like the option of not accepting the bike until it's right or moving on.
It really depends on the dealer if he can and / or is willing to make it right for you in short order.  I got my bike in late August and it is near perfect. We just picked up a new 07 cuse-2 for my best fiend yesterday! The bike is also near perfect (slight orange -peal in some small areas). Four of us looked over the bike for a half hour before accepting it.

Good luck and hope your riding soon.

I really wish I had this option now, under no circumstances would I EVER Trust MoCo again. Nor would I trust half of the dealerships now either. They dont willingly honor some of the warranty's, and they dont willingly stand behind their product.....they have tried to blame me for the f ups, big Lesson learned here, please, dont buy this bike.

I hope if they sell this bike on the promise of repairs, that that person winds up here and sees his Vin # as he is fighting with MoCo to replace parts 1 year later. Even though he was told all would be well.......I doubt Id ever buy another MoCo product from MoCo again, nothing, Id buy a used bike from private party and it will be aftermarket city as far as parts are concerned, I dont care if they give me a set of solid gold replacement tins now at this point after what I have had to go thru < Im done with them no matter the outcome........T shirts?, I dont need any stinking MoCo T-shirts, I use the ones I already have

I'm not sure I understand what you mean above. When you get the SERT you get software, and up until recently you got cables for those that wanted to install/create maps could do their own. To my knowledge when you make changes to maps you just hook the cables back up to bike (with interface) via a laptop and make the changes. What you are saying about the DT (Digital Tech) thing being used would have made it impossible for people to create/change maps at home, because they wouldn't have that tool. [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

Below is what used to be supplied with the SERT. Now I believe you get everything but the cables, which you can purchase at an added expense. Very important note for those that are new to the SERT you must treat the "interface" like gold. This is the piece that "marries" your ECM and cannot be used on any other ECM after initial use. If you decide later that you want to make changes to your map then you will need to have this interface to do it. You cannot borrow a buddy's, and a buddy can't use your interface on his bike. Some of us have even taken the

Hey dont get me wrong, I will always ride, and yes the friends I have made because I ride was in-valuable to say the least, but, since MoCo brass  have choosen to take a bottom line approach to how they do buisness, I refuse to let them line their pockets at my expense ever again. Im now a Bottom line all about Mikes money kind of guy, ....just like them. ......next bike I buy will probably be a used '04 turquiose, if I ever get into postition to find one when Im looking. Not only am still owning HD products...but MoCo has already made their cut from this product when it was new. So they dont make one more nickel in the new fiscal year because I didnt buy a new problem from them in the future.

I think we have seen a peak in just how much more they can do to a Hog anyway, outside of actually putting all the things on the f in bike right from the factory that we all go out and purchase and do our selfs after we spend an insane amount of money on their product in the first place. But again, thats a bottom line decision to put more money in their pockets at our expnse by putting some less than standard crap on it and then they gladly sell you a chrome one for a premium, when for a few extra bucks, they could of done the right thing in the first place and made it standard feature as they know its what all the customers are buying and replacing. Its BS. Like they arent making enough $$$ off of with just the Name. They have to trick us into parting with a lot more money than they really had too.

And you know, I knew this was the way it is going into buying their product, and I had no problem with that  ,and I wanted nothing more than for MoCo to be successfull, when I am going to be in this , how would they describe it?, "Family" of Hog owners. I didnt mind that they were taking some of my hard earned money. But That was before I found out that the "Family" thing is a one way deal. Bottom, line, once they get the money, you no longer matter to them till its time to get some more of your money. They dont stand behind their own promises.

I cant believe that I am the only one that has been treated this way, and also feel that they have just had enough of MoCo. But untill the stock starts dropping, none of them will care. When and if that happens, and Im sure it will, I'l take great pleasure in leting them know everytime I have to buy an HD O-ring cause no one makes a better aftermarket one, How I feel and laugh at them.

....

What sort of wonga am I looking at for the SERT ? and what would the part number for my SERK ? ....

It may be worthwhile sending for the SERT from the USA as the Pound/Dollar ratio is so strong in our favour at the moment.

Nige
Nige,
I've attached a doc below that comes from the 2007 Screamin' Eagle Parts Catalog w/descriptin and price of the SERT. You may want to check here for some of the dealers in the US that offer 20% off for you purchase.
