Thumb drive - all u techies out there!
« on: May 01, 2014, 06:23:49 PM »

Is there such a thing as a thumb drive that can plug into the aux/headphone type jack so that I can load music on and play back? Very tired of all the Apple products and thinking of getting rid of iPhone which currently has my music. (I ride a 2011 SESG )

I think what you're describing is a basic mp3 player.  You aren't limited to iPods, there are other brands as well, such as SanDisk for instance.  Do a web search for mp3 players.

I feel your pain, I dumped all my Apple Ixxx stuff several years ago due to the fact that all downloaded music would have to be sync'ed to iTunes before using on a Apple product. BAD JU-JU

thats too bad.  there is a program called media monkey that will allow you to manage all your music, upload, and download mp3 to your ipod device, and also do some basic editing, volume equalizing, etc on your mp3 files.  it's free, and it allows you to completely bypass itunes.  :bananarock:

Assuming the main reason is iTunes mediamonkey mentioned above or Copytrans (video below) should do the trick.

+1 for MediaMonkey the new version handles video also and will allow streaming to any DLNA device.

There is actually a device made by a company called aluratek and the product is the istream and it works through Bluetooth android or apple. They also have flash drives out now that are able to make a wireless connection as well.
