Shootin the breeze!
« on: November 30, 2006, 09:07:40 AM »

OK so I've read most of the postings on the site with regard to upgrading my new SERK. Trouble is there are so many different opinions and thoughts it's hard to get a handle on where to start. I'm no mechanic so techy jargon fills me with dread (I'm learning though), but I do want to get the best out of my new scoot.

As I see it a good starter for me would be:

1. SERT
2. True Duals - V & H or Reinhart
3. New A/F

Is this a fairly accurate asessment or have I missed something important ? If I'm right which exact products do you recommend to complete this task. I intend to get my Dealer to complete this work before I take delivery of the bike.

Cheers,

Nige

PS This is my current steed, she's had a 1550 conversion and Stage 1 with V & H Big Shots. She goes great, but I promised myself a new SERK as & when the MoCo brought out a new one.

Hey DooD - how do you modify the size of the pics ?

This one looks a little large.

I did it for you. In the future you can resize it before you post in any picture-editing program you have on your computer. For best viewing the size should be 800 Width X 600 Height.

BTW - That is a nice looking scooter you have now. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Thanks for that d00d. I really like the bike the way I have it now, but hey things move on.

What do you think about my 3 initial changes - are they enough to see a good improvement in the base specs of the bike ?

That should be sufficient to get you started (should give you sound, less heat, and all around be better performance from the motor). I went for a couple of year

Welcome to site, and yet another SERK! [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] For starters performance wise, that's where I would go myself. There's plenty of help here to drain your bank account, dollars or EU's  :)  Some excellent technical expertise is available here, and even some parts purchase support if needed here in the "colonies"  ;D. Chicago Harley and others do 20% discounts for on line purchases, etc. but not sure how they deal with overseas shipments.

Cheers!

I have taken advantage of the discount Chicago Harley offer in the past and they do ship to the UK. As usual the lottery of whether you get landed with import duty & tax applies. My experience was of a smooth and efficient parts dept. Unfortunately I'm not having a lot of luck with Orlando H-D. They will not accept an order for pick-up unless your credit card details are recorded with them from a previous visit - catch 22 or what? I've offered to pay via PayPal, so waiting for their response. Never had any problem previously in pursuading
