Are the SE/Jims lifters used in stock CVO engines also? I used Jims lifters in my Evos and never had any problems. Is it specific to TC motors? I always thought Jims had pretty good stuff. Are they biult to HD design specs or is Jims furnishing their product and just name branding them? If it's HD design and job-shopped out, then Jims is building what Harley asked them too. I hope that's the case. If not, then I'd reconsider using Jims stuff again. Thanks for the heads up and ansewrs, if you have them. Hoist!

Why the rear intake and not the others? Aren't they all the same?

If the position makes a difference it's not the lifters themselves but how lubrication gets to them.

That makes sense Don, but why is he only referring to SE lifters and not all lifters? The minimalist tolerance design strategy to maximize profit at work here?

Sounds like a real good reason to use the Feuling lifters......  I think a lot of folks have bought into the Jim's 'bulletproof" ad campaign.  Most of the good builders that I've talked with really aren't that high on the Jim's parts or engines.

The lifters pictured are the SE 18562-02, which are pictured in the accessory / Screamin

Brian, this is another place where I join the ranks of the converted.  The Feuling parts you and I have both used are just superb.  I am curious right now to see what difference I will see having lost the stock cam plate with the Zippers pressure relief valve installed and having added the Feuling cam plate with it's own spring tolerances in it's place.  Haven't had the bike out in hot enough weather to really know for sure yet.  But cold starts and later starts on a warm engine so similar oil pressure at idle to we were seeing before.

Overall pressure might in fact be down a bit as, apparently, one of the changes between the pieces is a slightly larger galley size in a couple of areas to eliminate a cavitation issue going upstream.  Given that pressure is in no way a question, however, I'll gladly trade even more non-cavitated volume to the top end for a couple of PSI lost to get it there.

I installed these very same roller tappets in Nov 05, I am using perfect fit pushrods and just had the things apart this past week to put a new gasket on.

I know this is unlikely, but if you called Moco tech support did they tell you their was a problem.  Also, given the failure state you may want to try and get them to replace the parts.  I assume you did the work yourself.  PS, my setup is SE264s, HTTC heads and forged pistons, 113, and 50mmTB.  Sounds similar to your setup.

This is the second time I have heard of potential problems with the Jims/SE lifters.  I did a Zippers Front Runner upgrade to a 120" Merch Evo style motor and they discouraged my continued use of the Jims Big Axel lifters citing race application failures associated with problematic oil supply to the the big axels.  I went with their recommended S&S lifters and travel limiters, saved a bunch of money and never had a problem.
