This was a specific question aimed at the 2011 fltruse but I guess the moderator decided to move it, I thought by putting it under that sub category it would stay. Now I suppose I will get all sorts of answers, we have different tire sizes than most.

We're still stuck with the HD-branded Dunlop rear tire in 180/55 x 18, since nobody else makes that size with a high-enough load rating for the FLTRUSE.

No, The only properly rated tire is the D407 from HD.

We have specific boards for specific topics no matter what model bike it is for a specific reason, and that is as unique as you/we think a model is the MoCo doesn't and some items (such as tires) are specific to a family (Touring, Softail, etc... sometimes even crossing into others) and not a model.

Madchad,

If I may make a suggestion, go into your profile and add information about your particular bike.  Then when you post and don't tell us what year and model you're talking about, we can look at the profile information and make an educated guess.  Saves a lot of irrelevant responses or questions asking you what bike you're talking about.  As for just posting under a particular model, when that's been done in in the past it hasn't kept many people from responding with irrelevant information for different models anyway.

Jerry

Oh, btw, the guys gave you the straight dope.  There is no other brand of tire that will fit the stock rim and have the correct load rating.  If you want a different size or brand, you will need to change the rims to something compatible with both the new tire and the bike.  That tends to be rather expensive, so most are just sucking it up and paying Harley too much for their D407.  Harley owners should be used to paying way too much for stuff by now, and Harley figures they've got you right where they want you. ;)

Jswerve,

You need to check out Gateway HD and Surdyke HD here in the St. Louis area. Tires for my CVO Streetglide are in the mid $200's.

Doc's HD and St. Charles HD here in town are in the mid $300's.

It's just a short ride away!
