Chrome  vent line
« on: December 01, 2006, 12:42:32 PM »

Where can i get a chrome  vent line for a 05 seeg that doesent have the piece of black hose on it? Does the 06 have a solid line and if so will it fit? Have noticed some pics that looks like the line is one piece. But not sure.

Thanks
Ernie

Ernie, yeah, the one they sell through the P&A catalog is all chrome.  Never have understood why the SEEG and SEUC come with the part chrome/part rubber one. [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

I actually can understand why...but for a stock bike...

1.  It is behind the rear header down tube.
2.  The starter behind the black rubber hose is black
3.  The cover behind the chrome part of the vent is chrome.

So they tried to line up the Brite with Brite and the black with black.

When you go to a true dual it is immediately clear that this is still not good and you have to change it out...like I just did...especially with a chrome starter or even just the solenoid cover.

But I actually could see what they were trying to do.

I discounted that since there is no reason for the two ends not to vibrate at the same general rate...and if they don't vibrate the same you probably have a bigger issue.

Would not the "cheapest" solution have been to use ALL rubber hose???

My understanding is the metal/rubber line saves the assembler several minutes in install process vs. the chrome line

Time = Money

d00d...I'm terribly disappointed in you :o :o  This is a MUST HAVE, particularly with true duals.  Mine will have it very soon.

As far as the chrome vent line....my personal opinion is it would cost them another 50 cents to do it in the first place, and they know we're going to do it and spend the 30 bucks or whatever.
