Just did mine with the same bike. Found a extra head pipe and cut the cat out of it, added Fullsac baffles and tts tuner. Will probably buy the sport pipe later from FS.

I went with the V&H X pipe up front and keeps the stock mufflers. I intended to put in monster rounds but I am happy with the stock sound.

Next time around I'm going with Fullsac DX pipe with Kury Crusher Mellows or Fullsac 2.5 cores.  Either way, should sound and run good.

Stock sound is weak. Added fullsac 2.5 cores. Sound was deeper but still not great. Added fullsac sport pipe. Sound is perfect. Mufflers and head pipe just under $500. Can't go wrong!

Guess I don't subscribe to the "loud pipes saves life's fantasy"

I don't either, but I do like my bike to sound and run good.  The stock pipes provide nothing.  Sound sucks and they cut the performance.

do what YOU like...it is your bike, you have to live with it...don't pay any attention to what others on this forum say...there seem to be a bunch of people on this forum who think unless you do it like them somehow you have screwed up...that is simply not the case...if they are paying for you to modify your bike, then do what they say...otherwise do it like you like it.
i have a de-catted head pipe and stock mufflers...a little too quiet, but have not officially picked out new mufflers...put on Street cannons...took them off. did not like them. but that is just my opinion.

I meant that if I wanted to ride a performance MC I would not pick the HD. Poor handling and sluggish engines compared to Ducati, Suzuki, Yamaha, BMW, Triumph to mention a few.

Nothing wrong with a Harley, I like mine but I am not kidding myself thinking it is something it is not.

I would hope you like your Harley since this is a Harley enthusiasts forum. That's where I was coming from. I personally have zero desire to ride any of the above motorcycles you mentioned.

What I'm trying to say is we are all different and that's OK isn't it? But I think we all love our Harley's or we wouldn't have dropped 35k on them and then come here to talk about them. So change the exhaust or don't it's your bike but I don't see a reason for any of us to give anyone else flak for the way they are changing (or not changing) their bike.

That was not my intention. (To give anyone flack) don't think I did either.

I don't care what people do to their MCs or what they ride. Why would I?

I'm referring to your comments against the loud pipes. No biggy we all like different things I just hate seeing people get testy when they have a different opinion.

When I ride with a guy that prefers a quiet bike I let him in front of me.  Right Stu? ;)
