I have a 2012 CVO FLHTCUSE7 Ultra that has blown two stators and 3 regulators. I have the Harley LED headlight and passing lamps and brake lamp. I have Custom Dynamics LED Turn Signals and the Plasma Rods and use the custom dynamics wire harness and as biketronics load balancer. I blew one stator and voltage regulator then removed the CD harness and the biketronics load balancer. Since then it has blown another stator and 2 regulators.
Update: I was told that LED Turn signals could be the cause because they do not use the same voltage as the stock incandescent bulb and the stator would overload the voltage regulator since the voltage regulator would not be getting the higher draw of volts due to the LED lights. I have been working on my own bikes and cars for 35+ years and I have to admit that sounds like total BS to me especially when I am using a load balancer. Any thoughts?
I am baffled there has to be something going on with the factory wiring to cause this. Has anyone else experienced this problem I am really getting frustrated and the bike is becoming a garage queen? Help?
Thanks
