On a very sad note...while we were in Georgia this past weekend, I got a call from my Niece who cares for my two babies when we are traveling. My Australian Terrier, Nell, has been diabetic for the past two years, and I've been giving her insulin shots twice daily to keep her going...she was 11+ years old...and would have her good days and bad. This weekend her sugar crashed and she had a seizure, so had to be taken to the emergency vet clinic not far from my house. She was semi comatose, but the worst part was the vet discovered a large mass in her abdomen that turned out to have spread to most vital organs...Liver, Pancreas, and Spleen. She did not know she was in the world, or I would have come home immediately, so opted to receive reports from my Niece and the Vet most of the day Sunday. By evening, they had no success in getting her glucose level back up, so I had to make the hard decision while on the phone with the doc Sunday night...my sweet baby girl went quietly to sleep in the arms of my niece a little after 9 PM last night. I had the sad duty of putting her in the ground when we got home this afternoon. She now rests quietly and peacefully alongside my other Aussie, Sunny, who I lost 5 years ago...he helped raise her from a puppy of 11 weeks old, so it is only fitting that she lay next to him under the gentle branches of a dogwood tree on a rise in the back of my yard...

She will be missed...a very special little girl...and a very special place in our hearts...forever...hope to see you again someday, Nell...
