Every third season for our "road" bikes.
I feel like I'm stretching my luck a bit as this is the third season for my '13 CVO Ultra but I got it late in the first season.

Any indication that the OEM battery is getting weak and it's gone this season!

I thinking of replacing my battery too.  Want to make sure it is the correct one and will work before I order one.

  :nixweiss:
For my CUSE6 I got the battery from Batterymart.com -- bought the Big Crank ETX30L which I believe is manufactured by Deka. cost me $99.95 to my door.

The new one lasted 2 yrs., next one 3 yrs, new one in June.  I can tell when it's getting weak because my HID headlights won't always come on when starting. Not enough CCA for juice.  A new battery solved the problem.

My '07 Springer still has the original battery, but I keep it charged up during the 8-month long non-(Springer) riding season, and charge it if I do a lot of short around-town rides where the battery doesn't get juiced-up by the bike (and I'm starting the bike often).

I rotate the charger through all 3 bikes so they stay topped up; original batts in all of them.

My original OEM battery died 2 weeks ago after 35 months of service. I went with the Mega Crank from Battery Mart. Look for a on line coupon for Battery Mart. Got mine for $81.95 to my door.

I see no sense going with the HD battery when service life is hit or miss on longevity.

HD OEM Part Number 66010-97C $170.95
Capacity 28 Ah
Cold Cranking Amps: 405 CCA
Type: AGM
Warranty: 6 Months

Battery Mart .com 1-800-405-2121

Mega Crank MTX30L  $89.95  "LABORDAY" coupon 10% off = $81.95
Capacity:   30 Ah
Cold Cranking Amps:   420 CCA
Type:   AGM
Warranty:    1 Year
Shipping Weight:   24.00 Pounds
Length:   6.65" (169 mm)
Width:   5.16" (131 mm)
Height:   6.89" (175 mm)

That's a great deal....especially with the higher Capacity & CCA & warranty.
Any idea where these are manufactured and/or by whom?  I checked their website & didn't find.

In my exhaustive battery replacement research, if memory serves me right, I believe I read it was a Deka Battery made in the USA.

The battery in my ’13 Ultra was DOA from the factory. The dealer changed it out the day I picked up the bike. First repair but far from the last I’m certain… Does make one wonder about longevity though...

Just installed the third battery in my '06 CUSE. two batteries in 8+ years......not a bad record. Always keep it on a battery tender in the shop.  :cherry:

Mine went after 3 1/2 years. Got a new one from the stealer for $284.71 CAD. Looks like the MEGA CRANK is the way to go.

Not sure how long mine will last, bought the CVO Breakout last September, seems to be struggling to crank.
