Need some clarification.  Are you talking about the ESP (some people incorrectly call it an extended warranty), or are you talking about a prepaid scheduled maintenance plan that covers all the oil changes and other required services?

The so called VIP programs Ive seen offer 3 yrs unlimited scheduled maintenance and run about $1,700.00, unlike the ESP they are only good at the selling dealer. If you run 10,000 mi a year and don't do your own service its not a bad deal., the local shops that offer it change oil every 2,500 mi

Big Moose HD maintenance plan is about $2400 and includes all service up to, and including the 30K service, and after that oil (synthetic) changes for life.  Service can be done at any dealer.  Not a bad deal IMHO.

First I've ever heard of that... would have to see it in writing. :nixweiss: I can see/understand if one person(s) owned multiple dealerships and it was good at anyone they owned but to be good at any dealership anywhere is hard for me to understand/believe. How are the dealer outside the original dealership where you purchased the plan getting compensated? :confused5:

Jim Palmer @ Kutter HD had been doing reduced cost ESP's for some over the phone but heard recently HD had stopped the practice of someone selling the plans nationwide at wholesale price.

The dealer that I get service at just faxes Big Moose the bill and Big Moose pays it.  Not sure how the transaction is completed but I've used it in Louisiana, Georgia, Michigan, and Minnesota to name a few spots with no problems.  The only deal was I had to buy the plan NLT the bikes 1k service.  And I think I had to buy it in person, but I lived there at the time.  The only service Big Moose has done is the 1k, all others at other dealerships.  Its a great dealership and I will be looking to by my next bike from them if stars are in alignment.

My dealer had a servie package as well. It was for as long as the original owner, owned the bike. You paid zero for maintance.

In 2005 they charged $900.00 in 2009 my service maintance package was $1700.00. (Pays for it's self after the 17,500 mile service. (If I'm correct)

If you keep your bike forever, they do all the service, I get my oil changed every 2500 miles and my wrench is the only guys at my dealership who touches my bike ( good friend of mine btw) take care of everything!
