DAY--9   Here's what the mountain looked like today.

Got up to rain. Went to K2 Aviation where I had a reservation to "Fly the Mountain".  It's an hour flight where they land on a glacier and then bring you home.  Was told it's a great adrenaline rush as you are flying the canyons with rock and clouds on both sides and rock ahead, then they turn and it's up another canyon. They cancelled due to the rain. They said it would maybe clear up around 7 tonight, but we couldn't stick around to find out.  I thought of going the night before when it was clear and beautiful, but we were so tired after just 3 hrs sleep, that it wouldn't have been enjoyable.  So there is still one thing on my bucket list. Maybe someday-----

Talkeetna is a small hippie town with no gas station and a few shops in town and overpriced Motels. This gem was $164 for the night.

And the Road House-- a motel with a shared bathroom, hostel, restaurant and coffee shop in one, and no vacancy.  Great food and wonderful Reindeer chili.  A real fun place to be----

Getting gas with our rental car was a new adventure. The cap, of course, was on the wrong side. Then when I opened the lid, there was no cap to remove.  I thought the cap had been stolen, but I guess they don't have them anymore.
