2014 road king cvo handlebar replacement
« on: June 19, 2014, 10:04:25 PM »

Hello everyone ,

I just got the 14 cvo rk and I am looking at changing the handlebars to 12 or 14 inch apes. I was told that unless I wanted to spend at least 2k. The dealer was trying to send me some risers instead, any thoughts?  I'm a new hd owner just switched from crotch rockets. Does this sound right? Also if anyone has changed there handlebars can you show your pics and give me some suggestions . Thank you

Congratulations on your new King! If you do a search you can find several pics already posted. I'm not sure about the riser deal. Welcome to the forum

Congrat on your new bike, I went with BR's bars in 14'' love it there is bunch of options depends what you like. Cvo came with bars with diameter of 1 1/4'' so dealer was trying to sell you some risers with 1'' bars I asume. Nothing wrong with that but why go less if you have already bunch of bars with 1 1/4'', and there is brake and clutch cables you to replace and throttle cable also. You can do all this by your self if you are good with your hands or pay dealer to be on safe side.... search threads with handle bars a lot of info ...

Any chance you want to sell the stock bars?  OR can you tell e the measurements so I can find something suitable for my wife's 2012 RK?  She loves those bars.
