2004 Screamin Eagle FXSTDSE2 Deuce How Much ??
« on: June 20, 2014, 08:30:54 AM »

I'm thinking about buying a 2004 FXSTDSE2 Deuce with 4,808 Miles on it color Blue & Black. I can pick this up for 12,500  I'm second guessing my shelf if this is a good price or if its to high for a bike that is almost 12 years old any in put would be great.

When they get this old you have to look much more closely at the actual condition and maintenance.  Low miles can mean that the bike just sat in a garage most of the time, while things like seals and other parts deteriorate from lack of use.

Book retail values seem to run from $10k to as much as $15k (from a dealer, not a private seller), so you would appear to be in the ballpark.  If you're buying as-is from a private party, you might want to negotiate them down a bit.  And btw, I fell in love with that black and cobalt beauty when I was looking for my SEEG.  If I hadn't been afraid of being forced to live in the back yard, I would have bought both.

Jerry

Thanks for the feed back it is from a Dealer pretty much stock other than V&H pipes added on I was thinking 12,000 to 12,500 was fair pricing. I'm going to see if I can get some type of warranty from them ??? I work them hard to get it down to 12,500 so I do not think they will give much more but I will try.

Thanks again

My wife's bike is a blue/black '04 - http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=38084.0;all

Great bike! $12,500 is reasonable but not fire sale price. Have seen them go for less but most had higher mileage. Getting a warranty would be worth more than negotiating them down another couple hundred.

Good luck with the purchase! You'll love the bike.
