You can't have more than one engine with the same VIN, so obviously the longblocks will carry a generic VIN and not the VIN of the bike.  The reman program could duplicate the VIN, if new cases were required, because they had the old cases in hand and could destroy them as required.  Unless they attach a requirement to ship your old engine to them for destruction before they will sell you a longblock, I can't see any way they would stamp the cases with your bike's VIN.  They would run afoul of all sorts of laws and regulations if they did.

You can buy a new case from Harley that has your original VIN.  You have to give up left case half.  I don't see how a long block or whatever could be different.

I just went through this on my 99.
