I just ordered this - hope it works as well as it looks like on the chart. Anyone else have one? A little pricey but if it works well, it might be worth it.

I know you said you've ordered the Jims fan, just curious, did you look into the Wards units?

Nicely disguised, but yes....very pricey for a fan and horn.

I like the patent pending on it. Sorry, but there have been plenty of others who have already produced a cooling fan kit for the HD, including HD! It's a fancy and very expensive fan that's in a nice package. You might want to rethink the dollars versus what its going to do

I chose the Jims Force Flow for a couple of reasons. First, and which I'm not too naïve to realize that this happens, it was voted the best accessory of 2013 by the VTwin 2013 Expo. It also shows on the tests that it lowered the head temperature by 80-100 degrees, which I'm very much interested in, since my bike has a 120R, and it runs extremely hot. And finally, I like the looks of the Jims a lot more than the Wards Werks fan. I have a lot of black on my bike, and I chose the black. I never liked the chrome horn cover anyway. The thermostat model kicks in at 140 degrees, but you can also get an on/off switch. I'd rather depend on a thermostat than my head, even though I'd probably remember it when my eggs started boiling. I'm probably making a mistake, and should have researched it more, but I've learned over the years that its easier to say I'm sorry than to ask permission, or in this case, opinions. Usually I just end up being confused and don't do anything. I will let everyone know how it works or doesn't work though, and maybe someone else on this site will be able to learn from my mistakes. But I do appreciate all of the input. I never fail to learn each time I come here. Thanks.

I thought we all stepped on it, or in it at one time or another as I know I have more than once! If it works and your happy with it then that is all that counts. I just got a good laugh at Patent Pending........... looks like Jims is taking a page out of HD's book of trying to take an already existing idea/product, run out and get a patent on it, then claim they invented it.

I bought the Wards Part Werks fans about 2 years ago, used them 20,000 miles, and liked them for cooling the heads/cylinders after shutting off the bike...but not so much when running the bike, since they blow a lot of hot air on my right leg.

About 2 months ago I got some oil cooler fans (see next paragraph) and added them to the bike with the Wards fans, which have a 190* thermal switch in contact with the cylinder fins.  Huge difference.  Before, on an 80* day, the WPW fans would run a lot while riding, and often run 20 minutes after bike shutdown.  Now, with oil cooler fans, Wards fans only run 2 to 3 minutes after shutdown.  Another thing: these oil cooler fans only cost $70.

I have the Big Sky fans http://bigskyfan.tripod.com/ on my SERGU, but I had to do some mods to fit it into the small space there.  The CDA http://cdavtwinfans.weebly.com/oil-cooling-fan-kits.html probably will fit w/o mods.

I chose the BSF b/c it moves 96 CFM total, while the CDA moves about 78 CFM.

I put Jim's on my 2013 SERK last month and will be taking it off very soon. My right leg got extremely hot, so I thought Jim's head cooler was the answer but..... it just blows more hot air from left to right and my right leg gets hotter when the blower kicks on. Expensive mistake!

Buy an Oil Bud oil cooler. It really works, it's hidden where you can't see it. Any you can get rid of the ugly as crap, I don't work stock cooler. Sure the Bud is expensive but it works and its a lot less than a new 124. Just saying. No need to flame me i've heard it all before. You know it kind of like "if you've got a five dollar head wear a five dollar helmet". Who in there right mind could justify spending $30k+ for a Harley that we know is going to break. Just don't know what or when. If only I had bought a BMW or a Honda. I wouldn't have been near as cool but I wouldn't have and entire closet full of harley motorclothes and spend enough money trying to keep this thing running to buy a house with Chip in the mountians. Sorry just got started and couldn't stop.

Look at the Jagg fan assisted oil cooler.  I think the oil cooler by itself is a better unit than the stock "deluxe" oil cooler, and the fan assist really helps in stop and go traffic.  Not the most attractive piece to add to a CVO, though.
