Anyone else have results with the Jag cooler? I would think it should be better than the stock oil cooler on my 2012 103

I've run the Jagg 10 row oil cooler with the thermostat controlled fan option for about 3 riding seasons now.  On average, the change to the Jagg cooler dropped my oil temperatures about 25 degrees.  I have a dash mounted oil temperature gage with the thermocouple mounted in the oil pan...   I'm happy with the results.   :2vrolijk_21:

When Building the 117 I asked my Tech about the Jagg, he talked me out of it, the Big Sky Fans work well if you already have an Oil Cooler...

added; My close Bud with the 124 / DD7 Skunk (averages 30+k / yr since '06) has the Jagg (for 20+k now) and he loves it! He does his own maintenance...

Curious how much experience the tech who talked you out it had on the Jagg unit? Was it just a I heard type of thing or had he actually tested one and found it to not work?

Anyone using a Jagg Fan-assisted WideLine Oil Cooler System?
« Reply #25 on: April 06, 2016, 03:32:55 PM »

Just heard about the Jagg fan assisted oil cooler. Anyone tried it? How about their hyper flow lifetime oil filters?

I put one on my Ultra after I got stuck in traffic on a 98* day and my oil sump temps hit 300*. After I installed it I slow rolled for about a mile on a 95* day, trying to simulate being in a traffic jam, and oil temp never got over 230*. My normal cruising temps are now 205-210 in the summer and I've never seen it over 230*. I highly recommend it! I've got another one sitting on the shelf and I'll be installing it on the RK as soon as it comes back from GMR.

As far as oil filters, I'm still using K&N.

Just re-read your title. I haven't used the Wide Line version but I put a 751-FP2400 Low mount on my Ultra.

Close enough. :) Mainly interested about the fan assisted models. Thanks for your reply.

I don't have that one but there seems to be a lot of folks very happy with it. IMO I think the 10 row fan assist is one of the best out there and the one I would buy if I needed one along with Wards Fans which I do have and they work well. I previously had a single fan right behind the horn and although it helped not as good as the Wards unit.

His comments were not based on whether it works or not, just that he had seen a lot of them leak and he told me that it was more of a pita to change the oil...

My bud that put a jagg on his skunk, told me that after about 30,000 miles one of the hoses blew off going down the interstate, luckily he was able to shut it down before the engine was trashed :nervous:, he did tell me that if he would have checked the clamps more often, then it probably wouldn't have happened... he's running an ultra-cool now... he does his own service, has never mentioned about either one being any more difficult to change the oil filter.

So when you're running a Jagg,  be sure to check 'dem clamps :2vrolijk_21:
