Are your talking about the Infotainment system that comes on the 2014 models?

If so then I don't see that happening.

Yes that was what I was talking about. I thought I saw some redesigned inside fairings with double din.

There have been pictures of what is ostensibly the new inner fairing.  But nothing I've seen was a physical retrofit.  Was just the new part.  That wouldn't be even the most difficult part of the swap though.

From your 2011 to current production not just the harnesses but the wiring methodology has changed completely as its all CAN bus now.  Nothing would plug in and communicate.

It would be a lot easier if you go with a radio with a flip out screen.  Pioneer and everyone else makes them and they will adapt to your current fairing rather easy.

Any thing can be done, it all about how much $$$ you want to throw at it.  It would cost less in headaches alone to just trade the bike for a 2014. Of course then you have to put up with all the problems people are experiencing with the new system. Might want to wait a few years on that idea, maybe the mother ship will get those issues fixed.  :nixweiss:

Actually it was a stab at sarcasm, after all they did sort of, kind of, in a way solve the issue of including a built-in junky, antiquated touring GPS in the Infotainment system by allowing us to buy a cable that allows us to use our trusty Garmin GPS.  :mango: :orange: :bananarock:

1.  Actually it was a stab at sarcasm,
2.  allowing us to buy a cable that allows us to use our trusty Garmin GPS.

1.  Sorry, I missed it; thought it might give false hope to some people   :(
2.  Couldn't miss the sarcasm in that if I was blind and deaf (and I am).   ;D

Aftermarket using Gamin Navigation. Modified OEM fairing and radio tray. Uses OEM hand controls. Wet weather radio cover and 3 year water damage warranty. Downside is it supposedly only works on bikes with some rake (6* trees). I have not tried one on a stock bike to date. I could see having to manipulate the speedometer cluster so it wouldn't hit the fairing.

I recently shipped two more to Ohio for a couple of forum members.

N.E. Pa, Poconos.

Work on and distributor...

Road Glide Double DIN fairings are $740.00 which includes the wet weather cover and shipping. You will need to supply an inner fairing to modify as well as a radio tray. The trend has been to purchase a used inner and have it modified than sell your OEM inner when the modified one shows up. I've sent 3 of the last 4 directly to the painter. The radio tray can be modified by you as opposed to sending it/one in with the fairing. Simplicity...send one with the inner, cost effective... modify yours. Turn around on the inner modification is usually pretty quick (based on work load), they are usually back out the door within a week. Paint and shipping takes some time...
