You have the wrong number. ALL '02 up, now take part # 29440-99C. I bought one last saturday and the dealer wanted to argue with me it was incorrect. So I had him do the same thing I suggest you do. Get the actual part 29440-99C in your hand and READ the end of the box. Once he did this he said "Guess I should look in the catalog for updates" and then sold it to me. Also listed in the Screamin Eagle Pro Parts catalog in plain sight.
Cost $111.96 with 20% off

DW, does the 29440-99C supercede the 29773-02A? [smiley=confused5.gif]  As you can see below from page 522 of the '05 P&A catalog, the 29773-02A was still a good number as of that printing, and again, is the one I have on my bike.  It does, however, have the comment, "E.O. pending for '05 models."  Not sure what that means. 29440-99B has been superceded by 29440-99C. I am not sure what led you to buy the one you have but... Check first page #26 of the Screamin Eagle PRO Racing 2004 Catalog for the "recommended" setup for a 103 FLHRSEI 03 OR FLHTCSE 04 it is the 29440-99C. Then go to page number 29 of the same catalog and lower rt corner "Screamin eagle pro air cleaner and breather kit for twin cam equipped models" guess what 29440-99B . This is the redesigned unit that does a better job with oil pull thru, scavenging etc. Has been out since at least Jan. I am not sure why the dealers are still selling the old unit, unless they already have them and need to get rid of them etc.
I used to be a parts man, I poor over the cat's and updates but will always use the older number if it is better, but the new number in this case is the trick. And again, have the parts guy get you a 29440-99C and read the box.

Since both the 29440-99C and 29773-02A both will obviously physically mount (both are described being used in this thread) does anyone have a clue what the functional difference between the two might be?  Since the applications for the two seem to overlap a bit an idea of what the real difference between them might be seems like a good idea?

DW, I don't have the Screamin' Eagle catalog you're talking about handy, but I found the 29440-99B in the 2004 P&A catalog.  Now I remember questioning this when I got my bike last fall.  But, when you look at the photo that accompanies the description, the components look identical to what's shown with the 29773-02A above.  The dealer had the 29773-02As in stock, so that's what ended up on my bike.  So far, no problems whatsoever.

Do you have any idea what the difference is in the two kits?  It would be interesting to lay the parts out side-by-side to determine the difference in components between the two.

I have the new one (29440-99C) in the box, and the other one on my RK. I will check tomorrow the physical difference. Have to go outside and prep for the storm (Francis) now. I thing the main difference is the way the Recycle (PCV in car terms) is the main difference and the new one fits about everything.
See Ya
Hopefully!! After the storm

My 2004 SEEG has a oval air cleaner cover on. Are you guys in addition to the above changing the cover?

Only if you want to change for "your" look, the oval works in this application

True, but you do need the 29769-01 Air Cleander Adapter Kit ($8.95) to retain the '04 SEEG cover.  Not needed for the '05s due to the change in covers.
