I know nothing about motors but I am thinking of putting new cams in, well having it done....I would like it to run stronger on the low end....

I highly recommend GMR's 577 cams and Steve's dyno work! It looks like you're only about 4 hours from GMR. You should give them a call.

Some choices would be the Drago's 565 or 580 cam the 24d by Kuryakin, the GMR cam.   I'd give both Frank (Dragos Bikeworks) and Steve (GMR) and go from there.

Are you doing Cam replacement only???  On the low end, Gonna be hard pressed to beat the 255

leave that bike alone...the 255 is a very capable cam with good get up power.....you put the wrong cam and tune and you just phucked up your bike....It will be a cam, then miscellaneous parts to get the optimum performance, exhaust, dyno tune...then a phucking headache.....LEAVE THE BIKE ALONE....Just ride your bike and spend your money on gas, lodging and meals.  I have been down that road before....big time money pit

The only thing I have done so far is had the D&D Fat Cat Header done (Borzilla) the race tuner and DYNO, before I ever picked it up, it just does not seem to have the get up and go that my 2009 CVO Ultra Classic had, I do not want to create a money pit, I just want a puppy with some guts....

Contact a tuner and see if your bike can be put on a dyno and see if it is really performing as it should. Could be they just toss a tune in your bike that isn't right for what parts you have.

Get a dyno tune from someone good. Cost about $300 for the tune but it could give you a boost in tq. and hp. and make for a smoother ride.

I just did this on my 2014 CVO Road King,  upgraded to Stage III , with 10.5 pistons, 4 59 SE cams, S@S true duals and Python mufflers.  Dynoed over 120 hp, will smoke rear tire in 4th gear. So what elese ??

If you would have cleaned & decked the heads when the pistons were put in, you could've smoked the rear tire in 5th & 6th  :2vrolijk_21:
