    • CVO1: 2012 FLHTCUSE7- Black & Orange

Recently I installed the Fullsac DX Pipe, baffles, screens and TTS Mastertune on our 2012 Ultra CVO and absolutely LOVE it, the sound is great, the bike runs much better and cooler, much of which has been well documented on this Forum, and Steve George is the best when it comes to helping with the Mastertune download !!

The question is, we live in Ohio and the bike is tuned for our elevation, I will  be travelling to Colorado soon where the elevation where we are staying is over 10,000 feet, and we will be riding at points near 14,000' elevation,  will my bike perform ok at this elevation ? Is there anything I need to do to help it run ok ? Thanks to all !!!

The highest I have ever had the CUSE was 11,300.......never a hickup. Fullsac, TTS, & 2 1/4 baffs.

Assuming all the sensors are working (O2, MAP, etc.) you should be just fine.  The nice thing about modern EFI engine management systems is they will self compensate for things like altitude.  A Harley system isn't as good as what you'll find in your car, but it's good enough for what you plan to do.

Be aware that you may not find 91 or 93 octane at the higher elevations, but it shouldn't be a problem.  Octane requirements in a naturally aspirated engine go down at higher elevations due to lower air density.  Of course that also means you will have less power since the engine will be ingesting less oxygen.

We just got back from a 8000 mile trip down the Pacific coast then over and up through Wyoming. Fullsac DX pipe, baffles, screens, TTS with Fullsac's map. Not a stumble, miss, knock or ping anywhere from sea level to 11,900 feet. Awsome tune. I didn't do anything special, just rode it. I can't speak for 14,000 feet but I would be surprised if it acted up. Keep us posted.

Thanks to all who replied, from the sounds of things, we should be fine at altitude, thanks again ! Just for the heck of it, who has a pic of your CVO next to the elevation sign somewhere in the USA ? Who has the highest elevation ??? I'll post mine when we return. Thanks again all !!!!@

I have a '14 CVO Limited with Fullsac DX, screens, baffles and TTS.  In June we rode over 11,000 feet in Utah.  At that elevation the bike ran just fine but it was a dog when I twisted the throttle.  In order to accelerate I had to shift down, sometimes two gears, in order to get significant acceleration.  Otherwise, the engine ran just as smoothly as ever; no missing or huffing and puffing.

I run a different set up then you do but I have my head pipe and air box done with a tune. I now live in Colorado and have had my bike up around 12,500 and it did great. In a few weeks I will be taking it up Mount Evans and that's over 14,000. I'm not expecting any problems.

We ride down to Dayton quite often.  I live north of Columbus.
We will have to meet up sometime.
