TC-24 cams and Dragos new H pipe for Bevo
« on: July 17, 2014, 01:47:15 PM »

I decided to put the Kury TC-24 cams and the New Dragos new H pipe in my 2013 RGC CVO. I am going to go with the Woods directional lifters this time.

I really like the TC-24 cams in my 103 and the way it pulls from bottom to top.(94 HP and 106 TQ)

My setup now is the 255's and a Jackpot 2-1-2 pipe.

I will be using the same tuner and dyno that I used the first time (Ed at the Dyno Difference) so I should be able to get a pretty good representation of the difference these part make. It made 94 HP and 119 TQ last time but fell off pretty bad after 4500 RPM.

I will post dyno sheets next week.

After 300 miles I ditched the the 255's. 24D, V&H Power dual head pipe, Kury Crusher Mellows, S&S Prem lifters. Extremely quiet. You'll be happy.

Hey Ridgerunr,

Did your low end TQ fall off a lot? That has been my only concern.

Could you post your dyno chart? What kind of tuner did you use?

I'm at 100 tq from 2500 rpm to 5500 rpm so I'm guessing no.

Low end tq feels excellent. I didn't notice any reduction, most of my riding is 2up in the foothills of the Smokies, Dragon and surrounding area. Lots of grades to pull, and switchbacks. The 24d's perform great. My dealer is not known for spending a lot of time on a tune, so I'm guessing there's more in it. That being said, I don't ride a dyno sheet, and low speed manners are very good, no decel popping etc., so the tune feels pretty good. After being on my 113" RG with 126hp/123tq I know a good running bike, and this CVO with the 24d's do not disappoint for what it is. No it's not "barn burner", but it is smooth and quiet and a joy to ride. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply and chart. I ride 2-up most of the time myself, so low end TQ is very important to me. I rode the Dragon last year and being able to trust 2sd gear in those tight switchbacks was a good feeling. I am not looking for a "barn burner" I just wanted a little more on the big end...from your chart it looks like I will get it without a major loss of low end TQ. I will post before and after charts when they come in

OK Bevo is all tuned up

101.5 HP and 119 TQ

Still making over 100 HP at 5800 RPM

over 100 LBs TQ from 2000 RPM to 5300 RPM

No loss of low end TQ and pulls like a freight train thru 6000 RPM

The combo of the Dragos H pipe and the Kury TC-24 cams works very well.

Ed said I could have gained 4-6 HP with a 2-1 Dragos or D&D Exhaust. The Dragos H pipe did not give up any TQ in the Low end range

That's HP I am willing to give up. My bike is not real loud except at WOT and I love the way these H pipe duals sound.

Looks good, they got the dip out of the low end. :2vrolijk_21:

Did you do any headwork or raise the compression? I'm looking at using that same cam, but not interested in doing any headwork this time.

So it looks like the lower RPM area lost a little, and gain a little, here and there below 3750 RPM and you flat gained power from there up. If that's what makes you happy then it's a home run and that's really all that counts. :2vrolijk_21:

Steve, there is no discernible (butt dyno) difference on the low end and a major difference on the big end.

I did not lose the low end grunt and throttle response of the 255's (riding 2-up most of the time this was important to me) and this Kury TC-24 keeps on pulling to 6K RPM. (OK...OK, this was important to me also)  ;D ;D ;D

This bike is a pure pleasure to ride. I also really like knowing that i have a set of quality lifters in there.
