Lifetime Subscription with Sirius Radio
« on: July 18, 2014, 06:22:00 AM »

Lifetime Subscription with Sirius Radio--The Sirius tech support telling me that since I have a Lifetime subscription of Sirius Radio I could not purchase the Weather/Traffic...After 2 weeks now, I got on the phone with a supervisor and within 24 hours they had everything up and running....

I told them I currently have #3 more Tour bikes with Lifetime subscriptions on them with the Weather/Traffic, Where do they get these people from

My buddy had a lifetime subscription and found out a few month ago it is only good for the original radio. If you trade bikes you loose that subscription. I trade everyone year or two so that doesn't work for me.
If I knew I'd have internet in most areas I'd go with pandora. Sirius customer service is HORRIFIC! I want to shoot their satellites down after every call  :sauer024:

I had lifetime on old 2009 and just had it transferred from one scooter to the next for $75.00, I do it every few years as I have 4 different tour bikes that all have lifetime on them....sometimes you have to just talk to a supervisor...

My old HD the stero went out on it and I argued and so they also waived the fee....LOL...Just depends on who you talk to....Have your friend call them back and talk with a supervisor....

it will costs many headaches and lots of irritation!! sorry for the smart remark!! seriously asks lotsa questions.they seem or at least used to be it seemed intent on extracting some charges for items that you never could get fixed or understand why. I am stopping here cause I could go on and on.

I have two lifetime subscriptions and was informed that they could be transferred 3 times to different vehicles/radios.  On the bike, the subscription is married to the puck antenna, so I guess you could move it w/o them having to do anything.  Never tried that though, so it's just an assumption on my part.  Got to agree that they're customer service is the worst, 2nd only to TimeWarner Cable service.  But I do love the music.  :-* spyder

I transferred my lifetime subscription from my home stereo receiver to the Road King GPS when I bought it. $75 transfer fee and was also told you could only transfer 3 x's.

I'm not deep enough in this yet to know the cost, but here is the poop on the transfer etc.

If you purchased your Lifetime subscription

Before June 20, 2005: Yes, it is transferable from one radio to another any number of times.*

From June 20, 2005 until September 7, 2007: Yes, your Lifetime subscription is transferable a maximum of three times.*

On or after September 8, 2007: Lifetime subscriptions associated with home, portable or dock & play radios can be transferred a maximum of three times.*  Lifetime subscriptions first associated with or transferred to radios installed in vehicles by automakers or dealers are NOT transferable unless the radio is stolen, accidentally damaged or defective.

Once a lifetime subscription associated with a home, portable, or dock & play radio is transferred to a radio installed by an automaker or dealer, the subscription becomes non-transferable. Otherwise, Lifetime subscriptions associated with a home, portable or dock & play radio can be transferred a maximum of three times, for a fee.*

Please call 1-866-635-2349 to make the transfer. Read more about Lifetime Plans in our Customer Agreement. Please note that Lifetime subscriptions are no longer being offered to new subscribers.

*There is a $75 fee for each permitted transfer. Each of the fees which you may be charged will be subject to applicable taxes.

I hope this helps some make a decision on if it's a good thing to do or not.

Thanks Dan, for all that info.  Of course, at my age any thing I purchase now has a 'lifetime warranty'.  har!  spyder

According to a live chat I just had with SirrusXM, they do not offer life time subscriptions anymore, only three years.
