Thanks for the post Ernie.  I look forward to the first investigation of this type into HD dealerships.........something I've often wondered about.

Seems like it's a pattern throughout Jiffy Lube.  While the TV station got all their money back, what about all the poor unsuspecting souls that got stiffed prior to the TV station investigation. [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

Outrageous!  Theft is what they should all be prosecuted for.

My son works at jiffy lube, they have had meetings about this and were spot tested by jiffy lube, his place passed the test, but this sounds a lot like Sears a while back. Imagine if HD made cars too, Jiffy lube would of Just voided all HD car warranty's.

Not really- they did get proof that the work had been done! Even tho it wasn't done. This type of thing has been going on before there were cars -buyer beware-

The Jiffy Lube in Berkeley CA my daughter took her car to removed the K&N air filter ( do not remove sticker was on the airbox) I had installed and replaced with a paper filter, charged her $35 for a $12 filter, tried to get her to do the whole tranny / rear end fluid deal based on their BS drop of fluid on a white index card. I think there was another thread here somewhere about placing a mark or a piece of scotch tape on a fitting and it was still there after service was done at a HD shop. Would have loved to see that one on investigative TV! :o

I'm in the auto & truck repair business and I can tell you that us small independant guys do not act like Lube Stop. In fact, they give us all a black eye. They should all be in jail and / or deported.

That's why I take my vehicles to a trusted independent shop. No ones else touches my cars.
