YEAH
Tell me bout that!

Hey, while we're talkin' about great handling, How's the '07 SERK guys like the radial tire set-up over the regular tires? This is a first for a RK if I'm not mistaken.

Boy I felt the high speed wobble at 85 on a long left sweeper and wondered [smiley=nervous.gif]
kinda scary with a 900# machine.  gonna test the lower's theory and hope it stops.

Hey Goinmobile,
I know how you feel!  These are big bikes and weigh a ton.  When I first got mine I took the Advanced Rider Course.  This really helped to build my confidence on the bike at slow speeds.  Just remember; if the chit hits the fan, jump off and let the wife handle the curve [smiley=nervous.gif]

Having taken the tour pak off makes a huge diffence in the way it handles.

i'm just as comfortable dropping my SERK into a curve as i am my Softy

It's important to remember that it is only the last 1/2 inch that hurts! :)

I had previously been riding an 04 Dyna Superglide Sport, a nice hanlding bike. A few weeks ago switched to the 07 SE Ultra. On the first ride I decided to take the shortcut across a rather steep hill with very sharp switchbacks. I had forgotten how really tight those turns were. Gee, in my teen years on a Honda 305 they weren't that tight. Regardless, I was heading uphill towards a steep corner that rivaled the slow speed box turns at MSF.

Strange, but I found just the opposite going from an FXDX to a SEEG.  Part of the difference was the extra 200 lbs. with the SEEG, another part was the ground clearance difference, and another is the strange front end geometry of the e-glides.  My Dyna was rock solid all the way up to maximum speed, with never a wobble or weave, and I could throw it around in corners every bit as well as the various Yamaha's and Honda's I owned in my younger days (no crotch rockets, just standard style bikes).  The e-glide does handle surprisingly well at low speeds once you get used to the extra weight and lack of lean angle, but you won't find me throwing one around at high speeds.

Jerry
I guess it all depends what the transition is.  I went from a Fat Boy to an EG...dramatic difference, the lean angle on the EG is much greater.  I was forever grinding floorboards on the Fatty.

Had I seen the Ride Like A Pro video before posting I would have given this thread a different topic: "How to trust a steep lean in a slow tight turn by keeping power to the rear wheel."
