Suprised me how an Ultra SE can handle
« on: December 11, 2006, 11:19:44 PM »

I had previously been riding an 04 Dyna Superglide Sport, a nice hanlding bike. A few weeks ago switched to the 07 SE Ultra. On the first ride I decided to take the shortcut across a rather steep hill with very sharp switchbacks. I had forgotten how really tight those turns were. Gee, in my teen years on a Honda 305 they weren't that tight. Regardless, I was heading uphill towards a steep corner that rivaled the slow speed box turns at MSF.

It is amazing how well these big bikes do handle.  I love the ride of the EG and it is one of the best handling bikes I have ridden.

Neal, you should be saying "more comfortable" with the SERK in the curves!

Welcome aboard, especially to a 'local' member! The bagger weighs in at a lot more that a Dyna or even Road King and slow speed turns are the attention getter. Again welcome.

Only bad part about it was one of the times I saw the sparks was when we went around a curve in MV and there was an 18 wheeler eating up part of our lane. [smiley=nervous.gif]
