Morning, good afternoon or good evening to my fellow riders on the other side of the pond,

answer one!
Yes from the Houston Area, Friendswood to be exact

Answer two!
I will be taking it slow, the plan one is
just ride around the neighborhood / town getting to know the bike better, getting use to traffic, my speed and intersections.

I told the instructors / coaches thanks for helping me get over the fears
but when you've lost it a few times in the corners, got broad sided once
and sent one into the side of a car doing 40 without any braking, it's going to be hard to be totally free of the fear.
all of my ugliness was created in my early years 16 to 26 or so
I drive my truck now with thoughts "how would I react to that on the bike"

the last replacement part needed from the Gorilla at the dealer kicking the bike over and jumping on it should be in today, bent clutch bracket which I really didn't notice to much until riding the new Street Glides they used in class.

been out of town for the last 5 days so tomorrow morning I'll get over to the DMV to get the 20 question quiz done

will keep everyone posted,
the Encouragement helps and is well appreciated

WOW Bromebe, you have a list of nice cars/trucks.  How many of those do you still have?

I started with a 90 5.0 convertible that I paid $300 for, restored and sold for 7 and bought the next, and on and on, working my way up to the 600 HP Shelby I built
then I got Obamized! or the wife did!
she worked the the shuttle program for 23 years, Manager statis and that extra $130K plus a year help me maintain my toys
so I stepped up and sold off the dream collection and bought a
93 Fox body Cobra, one owner all original with 14,000 miles on it to play with and the bike,
still cut my out of pocket enough to pick up the slack with the bills!
so hopefully she will go back to work someday and I will be able to start over!
a 1980 custom Deluxe about 30 years ago was my last Chevy!
before that my 71 Challenger that I had for 25 years!

Great----you got the right idea. Put her back to work so you can have fun. That wouldn't work in my world

Well,
completed MY inspection, bad milk / oil change, plugs, tire check,
polished the crap out of the bike and just made sure I would be ready come Saturday morning to go for my first ride after the riding course completion.

Of course with a few more Cold Adult beverages, while polishing!
I was growing brass balls!

and went to bed telling myself,
I'm riding to Key Largo in the Morning!
I live in South East Texas!

so the sun came up, one eye opened,
20 minutes later one foot hit the floor,
then the next and I looked real hard for that "Brass" but all was gone,
including what I was born with!

But on with new rider approved apparel
out the door, popped the lock on the safe / AKA enclosed car port and pulled the Switchblade out,
the wife came out to watch me get the last of the gear out and tell me be safe!
and off I went,
reluctant, but excited

Around the block! and again, then a little farther and farther
then came the real challenge, out on to the main roads with Cars! and before I knew it was heading for the open roads, back roads,
OK, it was only for about 35 miles, and maybe a top speed of 50 but I was a happy, happy, happy ole Fart!

but damn, it's mid 90's here and to wear long sleeve shirts and full coverage is a bugger!
can't wait until it cools off.

next Saturday,
it's Key Largo! or Galveston! which ever comes first!

Hey Bromebe,
I equate riding a Harley to the relationship with a woman.
The first year is like wild uninhibited sex. Your riding around getting to know each other, not sure where the relationship is going or even caring...just having the time of your life.
The next phase is like making love. You know each other pretty well. Your comfortable with each other, respect each other knowing each of your limitations. She still puts that spark in your life every time you see her.
Hopefully you don't encounter the phase where you say to yourself "who the hell is this...she is not the same as when we first met she has changed into a monster." And then you go and buy metric.
...just saying.
Enjoy and stay safe!!!

might be easier to repy to the local riders
you got it!
I need some experienced riders to ride with!

I bought this utility trailer about 9 years ago and its been sitting for almost 7
so I got it back to the shop, my garage and frig!
and stripped it, pulled the old 3/8" flooring out and put re-enforced 1" decking with 4 coats of sealer on it, new wheels/tires, brake lights, wiring, jack, chain, and painted the hole thing
just so if I want to go to somewhere long distance, then ride I can load it up, then ride and come home safe
