2011 or 2012 Which One to Buy
« on: August 07, 2014, 07:17:11 PM »

Looking at 2 CVO Ultra's and here's the situation:

2011 Merlot and Ember Red Sunglow, 6000 miles, $28,900 everything that came with the bike is there including the SERT, except Gold Key. Mods are V&H True Duals and 4 1/2" Hi Output Slip Ons

2012 Crystal Citron and Diamond Dust, 19,000 miles, $29,900 missing GPS, NANO, bag liners, bike cover, riders back rest, owners manuals. Mods are V&H Power Duals and Reinhart Slip Ons. No tuner is with this bike.

I'm leaning towards the 2011. Can't get the dealer to budge on the price on either one. What do you folks think.

Well for me I like the color on the 12'. I assume you are OK with either color. The logical, smart choice is the lower miles a little cheaper 11'.
I think the prices on both bikes are to high and you could and should do better and not cave in.

I agree, don't cave in.  Check Cycle Trader, Craigs List, EBay and others.  Make calls, print out what you can buy similar bikes for and then tell the dealer what you will give.   Remember in this market, the buyer is in control.  It's not like it was 10 yrs. ago when these bikes were hard to get.

sounds pretty steep on the price for the 2011. I am judging that based on a 2011 with 900 yes 900 miles one ebay for $22600. that was the twilight blue and candy cobalt color. the bike was stock no mods. all the goodies that came with the bike were included. probably, not the answer that you wanted to hear. but, now you know and go forward with a little more pricing knowledge. good luck with the purchase. let us know how it all comes about. http://www.ebay.com/itm/201137584167?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

Well so much for getting anything out of mine if I wanted to sell it. Should have it paid off in a couple months amd was thinking about a 2015 CVO Road Glide. Will they have a blue one?  ;D

Guessing color does not matter that much then I would say the 11, less $$, less miles, more equipment and probably better cared for, not that that makes much difference to a Harley but still...

If you like the 12 i would wait and keep looking. They are starting to become available. My dealer had 2 12'S at the same time when i was looking. Mine only had 7,000 miles on her and came with everything.

Picked up the 2011 this morning. Got the price down another 1,000. I'm happy with the purchase. It is one sweet ride. I never knew what I was missing. The Vance & Hines true duals and 4 1/2" hi output slip ons sound great even to my sensitive ears. During the 2 hour test ride I tried to make it ping but couldn't. I'm guessing it's running on the rich side as the fuel mileage seems about equal to my trike. Must be my heavy right hand. Time will tell.
