Heartland Tool Quality?
« on: August 13, 2014, 07:29:26 PM »

Does anyone have experience dealing with Heartland Tools?  Their add indicates all their products are made in the USA.  I'm looking at the following tools, the Wheel Bearing Installer & Puller for $169.99, the Mainshaft Puller Set for $89.99 and the Mainshaft Sprocket Wrench for $59.99.  I have looked around locally but have not found anyone wiling to part with any tools.  I would appreciate any info, positive or negative.

Thanks

Like you said they said they are made in USA.  If they are and are good quality I would pick some up myself.

Q:  What is the USA's number one export to China?
A:  Trash!  They loved our high quality trash. (not any longer).

Haven't used their Harley tools.  Most of mine are from George's Tools.  They offer, or at least used to offer, some Mercruiser tools also.  Since these were only needed rarely I tried a few when working on the old boat.  For whatever this may be worth those pieces from them were fine.  No quality issues at all.

I have a mixture of Heartland and George's Garage Harley tools.  I've found tools from both suppliers to be of high quality, and have experienced no problems.  In fact, my wheel bearing installer/puller tools came from Heartland.   IMO you can buy from either supplier with confidence...   :2vrolijk_21:

I've got the old style cam bearing puller/pusher for the 88" TC and also the new style cam bearing pusher/puller for the 96+" TC.

Both tools have been excellent quality and worked very well.  Heartland even threw in a couple Torrington B-148 bearings for free for me when I bought my the 96+" toolset, as I was also going to do some work on my 2006 TC88B.  Top notch outfit...
