You guys have given me loads to think about and I've learnt a whole new bunch of stuff (see I'm even starting to speak like you !). I guess I had the outline of a plan from the start, but that has been redefined by what I have been reading on here. The main difference to your starting plan and mine is that I will more than likely go with the SERT rather than the PC. This is because I'm not a technical kind of guy and I would hate the thought of having to remove it if I broke down in some foreign land. My stealers have told me that they will warrant the installation of the SERT if they do it, so I will get that in writing and carry that around with me when I travel. Hopefully that way I will avoid most potential problems (maybe I need it translated into a few different languages as well ! )
I'm still not sure about the S & S SPO's as I don't reallyknow much about them (Hence asking for the info). I was thinking along the lines of The V & H Big Shot True Duals, but I'm not sure if I want another bike that puts out so much noise. Germany is getting much more strict with noisy pipes now and there have been issues of bikes being impounded, pipes removed and folk being told that they cannot move the bike until standard pipes have been fitted. I ride in Germany most years at some stage so I don't really fancy falling foul of those laws.
Why do you feel that the S & S SPO's will fit your needs the best.

Hey Nige, you're scarin' me a little with that NY accent of yours!
The SERT's a good way to go for you because of your Flappers. This way you can be supported by your dealer and hopefully all the other dealers as well. The PCIII is real simple to remove and reinstall. You just pull the side cover off, unplug it and replug the harness together. But with the O2 Eliminators and what ever needs to be done with your Flapper Fooler, the SERT should be better for you. I'm glad you're working with your dealer and you shouldn't have to worry about
your 2 Year Warranty with it in writing!
If you're going with the TD's then you need to pick a muffler. The 2 that I narrowed it down to, were based on the quietest
peformance ones. The S&S SPO's are the quietest and then the V&H Ovals next. The V&H's are chrome and slightly louder. The S&S are quieter and polished Stainless Steel. To some they are, well, ugly. That's one of the things I like about them. They are said to perform the best but I don't know how much you'll really notice the difference, although I hope so! These were my finalists, but sound is very objective. I really don't want it too loud on an a long trip these days anymore. Maybe it's an age thing.
