Personal opinion....I believe the '14 SERK is a great looking bike but was a letdown from the "13. The '13 had the sound system along with a few other items the "14 didn't come with at around the same price. Yes, the '14 had the "Rushmore" changes (really only the saddlebags, handlebar controls and a new speedo for the RK) but still sorta a step back from the '13. Again, not dissing anyone's bike here....just attempting to express my opinion of why the '14 SERK didn't sell and is currently at a discount. Like others have stated, if you are sitting on the fence for one, now is the time to jump in it.....
There was a US$2,000.00 difference between the two in terms of MSRP. But for that difference, correct, you could not add everything that came with the 2013 to the 2014. I had the same initial shock when I saw them the day they were released and appeared at the local dealer.
With 2013 Road King CVO you got: Anniversary colors (that looks good imho) or additional colors without the anniversary logos; lowers with speakers; saddlebag lids with speakers; iPod; passenger backrest; oval air cleaner to clear the lowers, chromed mirrors; ABS; chromed exhaust tips; chromed headlight housing; chrome handlebar and controls; rear end/lights are almost flush with the fender (which I think it is better executed than on the 2014, just looks better imho)
With 2014 Road King CVO you get: Tribal design in the paint (that looks great imho);New (easier to use) hand controls; Linked brake system with ABS; redesigned front (wider forks, larger neck bearings); new saddlebags (larger and easier to open/close); round black mirrors; chrome and black exhaust tips; color matched headlight housing; black engine guards; different air cleaner because there is no interference with any lowers; black handlebar (I think it is a thicker handlebar, not sure) and controls; rear end/lights protrude from the fender (but light is much brighter than 2013); keyless ignition so you do not have the knob on the center of the tank.
