What would my 2012 with 65,000 miles on her be worth. Great shape with new belt, compensator and tires. No damage. The 2015 is calling my name...

IMHO, With 65,000 "Legacy" miles on your CVO, its PRICELESS !!!!!! How can you put a value on the times spent riding with friends, and experiencing and seeing the things that you saw while riding !!! Like I said, just MHO !!!

Well, I have a 2013 of the same model for sale at $29,999 and am not getting many bites. It's amazing how many people respond anonymously through emails or texts for $15K. Those re-sellers are stealers.

But for your 2012, I think you're better off trading it in than selling it privately. The trade in will also save you some on sales tax, depending on where you are. And it's done and over, providing you can get a fair price from your dealer

You will almost always end up ahead if you sell it yourself. However, it can take time and you will have to deal with all sorts of knuckleheads, so its really a calculation on what your time is worth.

After having my '08 with 62,000 miles advertised with very little serious interest.....my local dealer gave me almost what I was asking(tax factored in) on trade for the '12. It made things easy!

Book value will be hard to determine, due to the high mileage.  For instance, if you look at the KBB site they show an average trade-in value of $24k and figure the average mileage on a 2012 would be a little over 12k miles.  There would be a serious reduction for 65k miles, but they don't specify how much.

With current market conditions and the changes made for 2014/2015, determining trade-in or private sale values on a high mileage 2012 is going to be a real crapshoot.
