Best brake pads
« on: September 05, 2014, 08:57:31 AM »

I need pads what are my best options. Bought a set of cheap ones and they are junk, just not the same bite as stock. Sometimes I think I will never learn.

Don't waste your time with Lyndall. They stop great but squeal like a pig. I'm trying EBC next.

Sorry but I beg to differ with your opinion of Lyndall pads, In my opinion after using them on 3 of my personal bikes and installing them on over a hundred different Harley's at the dealership I am employed at I have never had a set squeal or make any noise other than the shushing noise caused by the holes/slots in the rotors. I and my customers love them and the less dust made by them. Have used all compounds they make and like them all.

Sorry you had a bad experience with them.

I installed the Lyndall "Z" pads about 12k miles ago.  Slightly better stopping and feel than stock with very little brake dust.    :2vrolijk_21:   :2vrolijk_21:   The installation is very simple.

Good results with Lyndall pads.  :2vrolijk_21:  Overwhelming numbers of good reports from most that use them.  I guess there are always exceptions.  :-\  spyder

Lyndall Z Pads work great here.  Better than stock HD from my experience.

I've been using Lyndall pads for a loooonnng time on the Fatboy, my old '06 Ultra and the 11.5 CUSE6. The Z Plus work well with improved stopping power and reduced brake dust on all the bikes. Since I had upgraded suspension installed on the 11.5 and most of my riding is two up I'm installing the Gold pads this weekend.

My issues with Lyndall is the last two times I've ordered from their website I've had to wait for months (litterally) for the pads - both the last set of Z Plus and the newest set of Gold - always seems to be on back order....but they hit my charge card when I order NOT when the parts SHIP   :confused5: I can't help but feel I'm giving them a short term loan without receiving any interest payments. They are pleasant to deal with when you call about the parts - perhaps to many of us are using their parts...

Might try EBC next time because of this - not because I'm displeased with the performance of the pads.

Put the Lyndalls the '08 SE road king that I had. They squealed bad. Called Lyndall and had some more sent out with a compound that "would not squeal". They squealed too! Lyndall sent out some goop to coat the back side of the pads.....you guessed...they still squealed.....and so did the BSR! Less "bite" too. They had good customer service but....
No more Lyndalls for me. Might try the EBC this time on the street glide.

EBC HH Sintered. Love them, a lot. Virtually no dust; never a sound, certainly no squealing under any condition and I ride a bit harder than average. I have them on the RK and the Ultra. I've used them for years.

used lyndalls on two CVO ultras...never any issue, broke them in correctly and they worked great...initially felt like it had less stopping power but after 100 or so miles it was stopping great and virtually no dust
