Well its been a long two + weeks but we are wrapping up the use of this bike and have to return it to the owner. Got the chance to use it for the last two weeks in trade for the cam of his choice and the tuning. So the bike was base-lined with a Fullsac DX Pipe and the 2" core replacements with the high flow AC with full tuning. This is the 110 Shower Head combination. All results are 5th gear SAE corrections

Baseline 96.5 Hp/110.27Tq

After the baseline, cam swaps only along with full tuning of the new camshafts were done. No other changes were made from the baseline bike. The results in no certain order are

SE 259E 108.31/113.53
Feuling 543 106.64/112.74
Feuling 574  107.17/112.0
Black Widow 55 103.23/114.0
Black Widow 47 106.38/115.53
Andrews 37 101.17/112.45
Andrews 48 102.0/115.02
Andrews 54 102.54/112.02
Andrews 57 105.57/114.17
S&S 551 95.1/113.26
S&S 570 106.05/112.46
S&S 585 109.04/114.46
GMR577 105.19/113.88
T-Man 600 107.17/116.0
T-Man 590 108.18/115.643
T-Man 577 107.44/114.29
Redshift 575 105.68/112.14

I've learn just exactly what has to be removed and what doesn't when the bike is never leaving the dyno. While it maynot be what everyone would do, I was able to get cam swaps down to a little over 1 hour on this bike after the first change over was done. We used adjustable pushrods after removing the stock setup. Since we were not sure what camshaft set would be chosen we removed the stock pushrods so they could be reused if needed.

This testing is done to add more base calibration for the CVO 110 engine to our product once the calibrations are finish getting part numbers and manual updates for them. These test were all run the exact same way each and every time and all correction factors were checked to make sure they did not get out of line. If I remember correctly the correction factor for all runs were between 0.99 - 1.01 for all testing. As for the results they are what they are for this combination of parts but it should give you a good idea of what to expect from the various camshaft changes.

Very impressive Steve!
I'm going to save it as a bookmark so I can find it easy!
Thanks!

Regardless of the peak numbers, what was your impression of the different cams.  i.e. which showed the best power in the mid and part throttle areas, which tuned in the easiest?

Nice work and no small effort I might add. I am glad i did the stage one only so far because this type of data is a great find. Looking forward to the graphs.

Steve, Any idea when you will be posting the dyno sheets. I had finally made up my mind on what cam to use and then you posted this thread an it stopped me dead in my tracks. I'll interested in the differences in the TQ curves. And you used some cams that I hadn"t considered. Thanks

Thanks, Steve.  Good stuff.

For those who are visually oriented, I took the numbers and charted them.

The graph is very nice and a great way to see comparisons for the peaks numbers but I am also interested in where the numbers fall on the sheets showing rpm ranges. In other words when and where are the peaks numbers developed?

Steve, Next question, Which of the cams tested was the closest to your ideal bolt in cam? 100tq @2000-5000 and 100hp. And which cams would reach those numbers with a bump in compression up to 10-1 max?
 Thanks, Larry

Very, nice work, Steve! And to the fella who posted the chart. That 585 looks better than Id have guessed but thats the smallest of the S&S grinds that I really like from S&S. Did you ride the bike with any or all of these cams? Any charts or pulls at say 1/4 throttle, 1/2 throttle and 3/4 throttle? Curious if one stood out as noticeably stronger on the bottom. The 259's for example feel soft to me on the bottom and the 551's id imagine are pretty snappy right off idle.

Steve Cole's posts where he dynoed different cams.
« Reply #14 on: July 29, 2015, 09:54:57 AM »

I have been searching for two days to try to find the posts Steve Cole did when he put in and dynoed different cams.  I can't find it.

Someone probably bookmarked it, I would be grateful for a link to it.

My buddy is researching what cam to put into his '15 Wide Glide 103.

Thanks in advance.
