Finally got the 1.18 upgrade to work with the 6105 software
« on: September 13, 2014, 03:26:50 PM »

I tried getting the new upgrade (the one just taken off of HD's site) to work with my bike (6105 software) several times. Each time, my maps were gone. So I had to go back to the 1.17 from getting it from the Canada site for HD. I went to Naviextras and it said I had an update available. I created the thumbprint and was able to get the upgrade into my bike. I know that a lot of folks were not able to do this. After the Nav update, I tried the 1.18 HD upgrade again. It worked and I now have maps. I'm a technodinosaur as I got my first Harley over 40 years ago, so I can't explain why it finally worked. The only thing that I can say is, if you saved the newest HD upgrade, try it again if you can get the Naviextras upgrade to work.

The first couple of times I tried, it wouldn't get past the authenticating screen.  After it did and it started the update, it was pretty close to an hour.

I remember seeing a screen that had an ignition switch on it, but CVO Limiteds don't have the traditional switch.  I think it was just a highlighted area to begin the download.  Sorry I can't be more help.

Can get the download from HD site.....for three days it says software download temporarily unavailable. Is there another way of getting the 1.18.1 update?

I figured it out. I turned the bike in with the accessory switch and let the system all boot up including the nav. Installed the usb drive with the new nav update and map updates. After it authenicated, it asked to turn ign on, then clicked yes and update started. Took about 45 minutes for nav update and maps.
After this update I installed the new boom update 18.1.1 update which I had downloaded a week ago. Same thing let the system boot up completely and installed usb drive. And followed prompts and update completed in about a 20 minutes.
Everything works and Navigation works like it's supposed too.
