2011 RG Ultra CVO. Issue with full throttle take off
« on: September 15, 2014, 09:33:49 PM »

I have a 2011 CVO RG Ultra.  When I am stopped at a light and want too take off at full throttle, my bike Boggs down and it fells like I am running on only one cylinder.  I have Vance and Hines x pipe and a screaming eagle super tuner. 21000 miles. I am going to the dealer to get it checked out

I think your bike has a 'parade' feature where 1 cylinder will shut down when you stop.  There is a way to stop that from happening.  Check on that before you let them take your bike and charge you..

Sounds mighty interesting taking off at full throttle. Back cyl could be shutting down while at idle if it's hot in your area, but that should clear once off idle.

The ECM has several modes of operation built in to limit damage to the driveline. You could be tripping one of those modes and that is you limit. It also could be the EITMS/ParadeMode but that should shut off once the engine see's 1300 RPM so I doubt that is what your feeling. Take the bike up to 4000 RPM, does it run clean at that point?

Uses TTS base tunes that have a lot of the problems handled to start with and knows how to tune as well

This news to me. So burn outs and tires smoking starts are dis-allowed by the ECM? Does not seem to be the case on my bikes. I do not like the rear cylinder shuts off so quickly at normal summer temps but it re-fires immediately on the startups. I know I can disable it but it has not caused any problems for me yet so I just leave it, for now.

Yes, HD started adding Torque Management/Protection back in 2007/2008. There are various forms of it that protect the engine and driveline in stock OEM calibrations. Most have at least three different forms of it running in the ECM and some have more! So if you start with that (OEM) as a base calibration you are stuck with those limits. We at TTS change all those things around in all of our calibrations to work with performance modifications so our customers do not have to worry about it. EITMS is what your talking about and that is just one of the many things we do different than the OEM calibrations do. There is always give and take and nothing in this life is for free.

Does installing a TTS tuner cancel out all those calibrations?  BTW I will be sending you a PM regarding the other matter of tuning my bike.
