Holiday Harleys in Europe
« on: December 18, 2006, 04:54:05 AM »

I hope nobody minds as I know this is not an advertising website, but I want to give a little plug to a good friend of mine who has just started up a new Tour/Rental Company based in the North East of England.

John & Dot Johnston have ridden Harleys for nearly twenty years and have toured extensively throughout Europe and the U.S.A. Over the course of the last year they decided to go the extra mile and turn their passion into a business by opening their own Company specialising in Harley Davidson Tours & Rentals throughout the U.K. and Europe.

They have six brand new 07 bikes at their disposal and will tailor tours and holidays around each individual groups requirements. Tours throughout the Historic North East of England with it's ancient Heritage and into Scotland with all it's romantic Gaelic past will be a speciality, but destinations throughout the length and breadth of Europe will be catered for.

One tour that may well interest you or your friends is the Tour to The European HOG Rally in June this year. The Rally is being held on the Costa del Sol in Southern Spain and John and Dot are looking for a group of 4 to 6 riders (with or without pillions) to escort from England down through France and then on through the scenic heartland of Spain to the Meditterranean coast where the rally will take place.

So if you a fancy a guided tour or a do it yourself holiday rental at very reasonable rates drop me a PM and I'll forward their email address to you.

Hi Nige, thanks for the info. This sounds like your friends have a great idea there. It's a good way to see the UK & europe while riding new Harleys. I wish them every success, & will eagerly await developments. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Looks like one of the Tours offered for this year will be a Castles & Clans Tour around the North of England and into the heart of Bonnie Scotland. 2000 years of history and Harleys as well - can't be bad !

Thanks for the info.  Sounds like something I'd love to do in the near future.  Plans for this years riding are already made so it won't be something I'll do this year.  Sounds like it would be a hoot with a group of friends.

Hi Moe - I'm sure you would have a great time. We have some great places to visit in the North East of England and some fantastic riding in Scotland.

John & Dot will tailor any tour to suit the group so most anything you wanted to do could be catered for.

Johnny told me this weekend that they are planning a tour of Ireland this summer so that one should be a blast too.

Another addition to the Hadrian Harley repertoire of tours will be the ability to bring a group of friends who can either rent a bike or bring their own bike. This would be particularly useful for people around Europe who have a mixture of Harley Riders and non Harley Riders or just someone who would like to ride a new 07 model bike.

If you want a guided tour only riding your own bikes then that can be catered for too.

It would be great to see some of you guys over here so that we could hook up for a CVO party !

New on Hadrian Harley Tours - "Bring your own bike".

Ideal if you have a party who want a mixture of people who either want to rent or bring their own bike.

C'mon guys this is a great excuse for a an impromptu CVO party.

Now here's an opportunity not to be missed .

I was talking to John Johnston (owner of Hadrian Harleys) last night and he asked me to put a special offer for his Castles & Clans Tour on the CVO Forum.

The first Castles & Clans Tour runs from 30th April - 12th May (comprehensive details can be see on the Hadrian Harley website @ http://www.hadrianhdtours.co.uk/ ).

The CVO forum deal is a whopping 50% off the advertised price so the fully inclusive price for a rider is now $2,895.00 instead of $5,790.00 and the pillion riders price only $1,140.00 instead of $2,280.00.

If I wasn't going Bonefishing I'd go myself !

Just went to look at the "buddy's" website and see what the "Castles and Clans" tour was all about.  Enough Scot in the ancestry for the name alone to make it worth a look.

It looks to be a nice sized vacation full of interesting sites anointed with history.  It's not a riding vacation though.  The longest damn day is barely more than one fuel stop.  176 miles.  That's not riding Scotland and the North.  That's just being a tourist who spends all day looking at stuff and occasionally hops a scooter.  If gonna do that might as well ride a Vespa.

Hi Two - You have to remember that there aren't any motorways/highways involved in this trip, just small scenic country roads and byways taking in the best of the countryside in the North of England and Scotland. 176 miles of riding will take around 4 - 5 hours and then there is all the "stuff" to see on the way. The idea of the Tour is to give folk plenty of time to enjoy the heritage and history whilst riding the "American Dream" to complete the experience. The full tour is just over a thousand miles, which is quite a lot when you consider that our 'lil ole country' is only 874 miles from the extreme south to the far north.

If you fancy a harder riding tour why not ask Johnnie and Dot to come up with a custom tour for you. They'll tailor any tour to suit the individuals requirements including the "Iron Butt" devotees.

Thanks for taking a look at the site Two.
