Mods for a 2015 CVO street glide
« on: September 18, 2014, 09:07:51 PM »

I am still waiting for my 2015 CVO to come in or a call from any of the many dealers I have called looking for a Hard candy or black CVO.  Today I was at the York Factory open house and saw the black, hard candy and the blue/purple bikes.  I rode the hard candy one and I have a few questions;

On my 2010 X, I have the power commander V and the rev limiter is set to 6200, on the demo bike today, I was always hitting the rev limiter T 5200.   Are you guys setting your rev limiter to 6200? I may have to jump over to the ECM thread, but I was leaning toward the Power Vision for this bike.

Cams: On my 96cu in I have woods TW6-6 and they are pretty strong from 2500 to 6000 RPM, I am not sure about the 255s, they should be fine in the bike with the 110 cu in.  Where tod the GMR cams perform from?  Is it from 2K to 6K?

Pipes: I had a road king that I had FM pipes on it, and they were ok...When I got my 2010 X I put BUB TDs on it. I love the BUBs, they really bark as I hit the throttle. But for this bike I want to go down a bit, I like the rineharts, but when I looked at the bikes today at York, I really like the way the stock slip ons look.  So, are you guys pulling/replacing the head pipes and then swapping the baffles on the stock pipes?  I have seen there are a lot of comments on the fullsac baffles. I will continue to look at them. Any help or comments on my post would be appreciated.

thanks

I just finished put the Fullsac DX pipe and 2" cones on the wifes new CVO street glide. Alittle mild on sound but thats what she wanted. The bike goes in this week end for tuning at my friends shop. Really like this bike. Feels very strong and handles nicely. I'll keep to my Skunk but the wife looks good on it.

Sorry to thread jack but what did you think of the colors? I am also trying to decide between the Silver/Black hard candy or the Black/Gold.....
Thanks Brother

I would be happy with either color.  The black has very strong brown tones and really shows the scratches from cleaning.  That's something my denim black does not do.  The hard candy is really nice, that's my 1st choice now.  The purple flames look like they are 3 dimension.  There is a depth to the flames.  If I liked purple that was the nicest of the 3.  I did see the yellow in as last week, very nice and the 3 dimension was in that paint as we'll.

The new SG has many new uogrades from the factory like front end and the boom audio are big improvements. Love the hard candy paint. But I prefer the shark nose and the clean lines of the RG. Plus I have done motor work to the skunk so hopefully I can keep up with her (power to weight ratio) She does not want me to do any motor work to hers. Both really great bikes. I just don't feel that I could trade the RG for a SG. Happy to have both.

Bloomer, that's one pretty machine.  I keep saying I'm staying with my '11 baby, but I have a feeling I'll be looking for one of these in about a year. See, my problem is I refuse to pay retail/msrp for anything. So I gotta wait to find one with a couple miles on her...

Another expensive SG/Ultra conversion. I just can't do it again! Hoping they make the Ultra with the SG ass!

The ability to take tour pack and  passenger seat off and enjoy that nice ass is pleasing.  Going to hold on to this gal so don't look for it in a couple years.

It's cheaper to Ultrafy a SG, then to SG an Ultra. Sweet looking bike! Can't wait to get my black one in a month or so.

It is cheaper but never as good looking as the SG

Jswerve, I was agreeing with you. It is cheaper for tour pak on SESG than to modify an Ultra. It's over $4k to put SG back end on Ultra.

Sorry misunderstanding.  I think the ultra is the better value but I can't get over the behind and it's too tall for my little legs :)
