Split front and rear tires
« on: September 22, 2014, 07:40:55 AM »

Whilst cleaning wheels and doing some checks I notice a crack or split on both front and rear tires.
Rear tire has two cracks of some type, I am thinking it's the over lap when tires are made?
These cracks are opposite each other in the same radial location.

Front tire has a split across the face but it's not that deep and looks to be intact.

Is this something to be concerned about?

YES!,  If I had this problem with my tires it would be addressed immediately. Looks like new tires also. Good luck and keep us apprised.

I saw this thread last week and out of pure curiosity guess what I found on my front tire yesterday... a split/crack just like yours.  Less than 4k on it after getting it replaced under warranty for cracks along the bead.  Back to the stealer I go.

That's definitely a problem!  :o They look like new Dunlops,,,  I never seen that happen before. I wouldn't ride it like that. Keep us posted. Thanks for sharing.
